Man, I was looking at some sportbike sites yesterday and the gsxr 1000 is ranked #1 in 05 for hp. I mean it is up there with the 1300 busa. But the weight/hp ratio is just insane. I wonder how it wheelies, since they balanced the weight out more for the track? I have heard some places are selling them for about 9800(which is a 1000 and change cheaper than MSRP) Guess I need to start hunting that deal. I really want a red and black one but I heard they only have yellow/black, charcoal/black and blue/white. I guess the blue and white would be the best for letting cages notice ya. But the salesman in houston must have been mistaken because he they make a red/black.

I sat on one in the suzuki tent in daytona it was awesome. The only thing I don't understand is they say they have a "slipper" clutch what the heck does that mean? I have always heard it feels like a 600 do to the redesigning. Think it is time to sell the cruiser.

Yamaha claims 180 hp but that is at the crank. I would love to see the dyno on the r1. I am guessing about 155ish at the rear wheel.

I sold my 2002 gixxer 750 when I moved in the end of 2003, I hate not having it, especially with weather like today :(

I really loved the bike but the 600RR is calling my name (black and silver), gonna get a new one next spring hopefully, 2006. If you are in or near NJ/PA/NY/CT, I have a website for you to check out. There's a large group of sportbike riders in this area. www.tristatesportbikes.com

dude speed wars are so dead .....busa are fugly too... no lines at all.

look into handling and excelleration... looking at the december isue of sportbike rider magazine, u will see that 1000s didnt do that much better on a tough track with alot of twisties then the 600s.. also wheelies nigga! u think u pull one of those sharks up in 3rd? nope doubt it :)

tiger,

I am not talking about the busa. I am talking about gsxr new litre bike. It is light and not ugly. Here is the pic.

I also don't have any twisties where I live so I have to wheelie and go fast for kicks.

curling....the Suzi is bad ass...blue/white is choice....check out the undertail exhaust system (aftermarket)...its very trick it leaves only the exhaust port exposed, all enclosed, very clean...they make one for my new 1000RR..i would be concerned about heat tho...what do you think about that?
i opted for the Jardine as the GP race bikes use it on the honda...
