non iv drug using hetrosexual men do not get aids

In America not Africa

I m not saying some hetros don't get it but I never really saw any other than blood transfusions along time ago

I think the likely hood of a man getting it from a woman is very unlikely 1 in say a million

iv drug users or homosexual I feel are 99% of the aids population do you think this is true?
I feel the condom makers and the aids awareness type stuff perpetrate like hey its everywhere but really its only 1 in 27,000 Americans that have it and its women, iv drug users or homosexuals not straight men for most part

by the way I am not a gay basher or a homophobe have nothing against them at all I just never observed 1 heterosexual male non iv drug user other than magic Johnson and he may be gay ??? that ever had it

I've looked at the statistics and the chances of a hetero male getting it, even when the female is positive, is very small but not even close to 1 in one million. If I remember correctly, the chances of a male getting HIV from a HIV positive female through unprotected sex was 1 in 300.

Well a hetro guy has about a 1 in 8 million chance of getting aids. Period, it's a gay thing anyway you put it. The closer you get to the gay pop, the closer you get to aids.

agreed 1 in 27,000 then 1 in 300 so 300 times 27,000 so 1 in 8.1 million
stay straight

i think the likeliness of catching it via analfuck is just much higher than by vaginal or oral sex. that is why (supposedly) AIDS is more common among gays, but it does not mean that the chances of catching the HIV are lower for heteros per se - my opinion. Of course, I dunno the statistics, but if you are that lucky bastard catching it - what help do statistics?

A couple of things, one MAGIC JOHNSON is not gay.

The group that is getting HIV at the highest rate now is young women between the ages of 16-25. Which is the group that you are most likely to be having sex with.

Don't kid yourselves lads.

Being circumcised does confere a bit more protection from catching AIDS, but this is not a virus that avoids hetero men.

HIV is more difficult to catch than some other STDs, hep B in particular, but still, if you think hetero American men don't get it, you are delusional.

1 in 600 people in the US have HIV (roughly 1/2 million people). Some estimates are much larger but lets just use this.

11% of those are heterosexual males. That is 50,000 males. Considering there are 300 million Americans and 50% of them are males that means 50,000 males out of 150 million have AIDS. and that is .03% which means 3 out of 1000 males have HIV. That is very low but not even close to one in 8 million. The risk is out there and I have male hetero friends with HIV because they banged an infected girl.

your stat is wrong if i even belive that website 45,669 they said have it so since there is 270 million people its 1 in 6000 not 1 in 600

so again at the stats they quote 1 in 6000 have it and a man getting it from a girl is 1 in 100 so say 1 in 600,000

throw away the condoms

Aids is just one disease spread this way, not to mention potential unwanted pregnancy...

Ya'll do what you want. Not like your peepee gonna be touchin me.

....just sayin sex without a condom is sorta silly. Not worth the risk IMHO

I agree.

I did out the math and 50K men out of 300 million still too damn risky for me.

I thought I would look up some information as well.

This is from an e-book from WHO that I have access to at the hospital I work at.

AIDS epidemic update: Dec 2004

North America, Western and Central Europe

Adults and children living with HIV - 1.6 million

Number of women living with HIV - 420 000

Adults and children newly infected with HIV - 64 000

Adult prevalence - 0.4 %

Adult and child deaths due to AIDS - 23 000

Among young people 15- 24 years of age, 0.1 % of women and 0.2 % of men were living with HIV by the end of 2004.

Sex between men and, to a lesser extent, injecting drug use remain prominent factors in the epidemics in these countries, but the patterns of HIV transmission is changing. Aids is affecting new sections of populations, and an increasing proportion of people are becoming infected through unprotected heterosexual intercourse.

but chance of getting aids for a hetrosexual is 1 in 600,000 to 1 in 3 million you cant even have a worry thats great news
they act like you go fock 100 chicks without a condom and your gonna get it its all b.s. 1 in a million god who cares

I wonder if your attitude has anything to do with:

Aids is affecting new sections of populations, and an increasing proportion of people are becoming infected through unprotected heterosexual intercourse.

What do you think?

I think its like saying steroids will kill you its all a pack of lies
I 'm married happy dont cheat so I dont really care, but when i was single i was afraid as many are that dont know the stats of aids but really its a rare disease for hetros in america yet people act like its common its just more b.s. perpitrated by the media or special interest groups as a woman i would have some fear but only if Iwas dating a bi-sexual man or iv drug user

Yep you r right OP LOL.. come on gay community get your bloody act together and start using protection.

As for insulting IV drug users- its only if you are sharing needles. Why share needles when they are free?

1 out of 5, 1 out of a million. What do statistics matter at all to the individual? You can say o well only 1 in 6 million straight guys get Aids, Ok well who is to say that your not the one of 6 million to get it. You know the big issue of spreading across gays was because off the lack of protection? For some reason people assumed for the longest time that condoms were only for prevention of pregnancy. Bottom line is that you have just as much of a chance at getting Aids as everyone else.

Statistics dont matter when it comes down to the individual.

ok but what if a guy does a girl up the butt...there will obviously be micro tearing and everyone knows hiv is transmitted faster through anal sex than regular. the ass isn't made for a pounding like the vagina.

and I don't think there was a difference between a guy taking it up the butt versus a girl..

its still a butt.

Even though there is some heated talk in this thread, I think it still has good information and thoughts. Keep it up!

(_)> Cheers! Alan Chiras.

I can see that it would be easier for a man to get from a man, but its still a risk for a hetero person having sex with any infected person. I read somewhere that an HIV positive person can actually reinfect himself, meaning he may have a less nasty strain that the next guy, but if he has a "wtf I'm going to go hog wild" mentality thinking he and any other HIV guy are safe to party on, they may swap their strains and make a stronger virus than they previously had...It may be untrue but its a sobering thought.

Of course heterosexuals getting HIV is slightly lower risk but saying heterosexuals do not get HIV Is a very uneducated guess and rather silly Evan suggesting it. I'm gay, and not know 1 gay person to have the disease. Does that mean gay men do not have aids and it's only black Africans. Your view is 100% stereotypical. In the Uk. 1 in 1000 people suffer from the disease the majority being heterosexual due to the fact them believing they do not need protection by using contraception and as they are so invincible that only gay men catch aids through having unprotected sex not heterosexuals. Sexually transmitted infections are on a massive increase in the Europe and the states in heterosexuals some diseases are of higher statistics in straight people then gay individuals. We all need to be carefully careful. Lol. Thanks for reading.

Hi guys, this is my first post. I am hetro and have aids. Got if from giving aid to a guy with an extrem saw cut on his leg. No gloves, and had cuts on my hands.i had to HIV stored, and it never tasted pos. I worked extreme hours and was depleted and stressed, started develepeing a dropped foot and no energy. I had a cat scan and found a tumor in my brain. Walked. Into the hospital, and two weeks latter was wheeled out to go home. I was one day from death, body ate all my right side mussel. I had to use a wheel chair. Life sucked.could not eat and biopsy ruined my sleep center. I had no sleep, lots of time to reflect, so the battle was on. I was 165and lean, when I left I was 125. 8 years latter I am 140.i am up and walking and getting ready to start aas.i have no blame or retreats, that's what life is. I live the Biotoxic lifestyle, wife and g/f are neg. good luck to all, never give up.

Tatyana first-You got everything correct - But you got hep B mixed up with hep A. I had this happen to me, and wrote a article about it. If anyone want's the article one of you ask, and post it here. It's about 1000 words and might surprise you!
needtogetarmy - just wanted to tell you that the 1 in 300. THAT is the reason, my agency had other HIV prevention divisions targeted ST8 men that went to Girly Magazines shops. It was a bit difficult, BUT it worked - called Bookshop Brigade. My history on this type of work covered many types of groups.
