    Reg Parks old wrokout

dumbell bent over rows I agree that dumbell rows are easier on my back than barbell rows. doing all the work that I do involving my back, I want as little stress on my low back as possible. With my olympic dumbells I can add all the weight I want too.

Bench, Clean, Squat 2 times a week

Workout twice a week I have found that it is beneficial for me to train these type of lifts twice a week, however I don't hit it exactly the same. I.E., pulls on monday with squats, different pulls on Thusday with front squats, and strongman training on saturday. I've mad great gains training...

    Training Board Monthly PR post

Squat PR In training for Boston last night, I suited up in my new hardcore I bought used. Hit 515 for 7 on squats, then hit 585 about 2" high just to do it. Never done 515 for that before on a squat.

I want to go to it this year, especially since there is going to be olympic weightlifting. I couldn't make it last year due to a conflict.

    GREAT Olympic numbers

o-lifts Thanks Kiloamp, that's kinda what I was thinking. CoolColJ, I did not specify for non-o-lifters, which I should have. I'm fully aware of the weight categories in the olympics. In amatuer strongman middleweight is 200-250, I'm not an olympic lifter nor could I be. Even at 240 I...

    GREAT Olympic numbers

O.k., what would you guys qualify as Great olympic lift numbers. As in the clean and the snatch. Assuming a middlewieght is doing the lifting (225-250). 350 on a clean? 400? What is the corporate opinion. Just curious.

    Modern BB'ers

Yeah, I'm much more interested in the old time lifters than today's guys. A lot of the old lifters like Steve Reaves and Marvin Eder were great athletes. In Steve Reave's book, Building the Classic Physique the Natural Way, he stated that at the end of the first Mr Universe Contest he competed...

    Chronicly sore back

In addition to my two days of O-lifts during the week, it looks like box squats and two strongman events on saturday now. Anything that I can do to eliminate soreness in my low back that I expereince when pulling 3 times a week? I know this is a lot of volume, but it is out of necessity. Any...

    overcrushing

Overcrushing I filed my number 1 down to do oercrushes with it. I took about 1/4 the thickness of the handle out of it, and filed it about half way up. It did not take me but a few minutes, but then I have access to a commercial grinder. Most likely you can rent one from Home Depot or Lowes.

    Q for DECENT o-lifters

Goals for o-lifts I think I might eventually like to do a weightlifting contest. but for right now I'm using that as my primart training method for strongman contests. I tried training for a heavy backsquat, but that left my erectors fried all week and I want to increase my quad strength...

    Q for DECENT o-lifters

I'm going to a straight o-lift program for my lower body, I'm looking for opinions. My best lifts are 295*4 on powerclean, about 325 on a hang clean. Monday: powerpulls: work up 355*3 (adding 10lbs for 3 weeks after), pulling weight to mid stomach split snatch: work up to 175*3 (adding 10lbs...

Post up your Squat Max #'s

squat max My best ever is 545*3 with just a belt. I did this at about 230lbs one week out from this year's NASS nationals. I used a Rickey Dale Crain program to get up to that. Funny thing is when I tried it a second time, I couldn't keep up with it and had to bail on the thing.
