    I HATE squat pads

    A lateral raise I like is doing front raises with a 45 lb. plate holding your arms straight out and lifting the plate over your head.     Help with bulking?

    I would say to start at 1800 cals (30%p; 40%c; 30%f) and tweek as necessary with training 4 days week. If you want bulk I would recommend doing squats along with deadlifts. They really add mass. Also try experimenting with some muscle builder supplements.
