FDA approval is achieved by rounding up tons of useless information and conveniently sidestepping anything meaningful. Then you pay your user fees, wait 6-12 months, and get approval. After that, as long as you don't embarrass them, they leave you alone. If you do embarrass them, suddenly they blame the problems on the poor application that was done, yet seem to overlook the fact they were the ones who originally approved it.
