Question for youz guys/gals who got their Masters in business/accounting/finance

Enough guys, please. I've had a really rough couple of months and I only recently started posting here again, but I'm still pretty fuckin fragile, emotionally. So please cut me some slack and give it a rest.

his original question (as i understood it) wasn't about MBA's (which kind of ARE a-dime-a-dozen), it was about masters degrees in business-related fields...apples and oranges???

getting a masters degree in accounting or finance or qba or taxation (like i did) has nothing in common with an mba program, aside from the entrance exam.

Hmm... I read GMAT and automatically thought MBA. I know nothing of accounting and assumed finance would be GRE/subject. Do they take the GMAT as well? I'd love to go for a master's in financial engineering, but I'm not looking for a career change.

oh and, mba's are for people whose companies encourage AND pay for them...or, they are for engineers, chemists, physicists, et al; who wanna be vice presidents.

My company will pay, but only a full ride to the local directional TTT. UMich would still cost me like $50k. I decided to wait until it either becomes necessary or until I can get a full ride at a T20 or so. Everything I've heard from T1 MBA holders is that their degree really didn't help that much, and these are people in the 40-50yo range pre-dilution. *shrug*
