I'm not real familiar with this.
From my understanding this short hi intensity cardio like 2-3 min warm up then 8-10 min balls to the wall cardio and your done.
Hows this compare to reg cardio?
Is there heart rate your trying to hold?
Any ones thoughts opinions results experience wanted

regular cardio does sh9t but burn a few hundred calories at best and wastes time. Id rather just cut cals and skip it because its good for nothing.

HIIT/Tabatta style cardio you want to give it 100% while working so that should put your heart rate at >95% although dont worry about HR, your not going to have the energy to focus on it anyway.

Personally this type of cardio is best done when mixing up all sorts of exercises. you dont have to run/bike/eliptical to get this kind of heart pounding workout. Use a barbell and do squats followed by burpess. Do power cleans followed by box jumps, mix it up every day ya do it. Pull ups, pushups, dips, body weight squats, mix it up so it doesnt get boring.

Zyg's third paragraph is a blueprint to getting shredded.

you're forgetting the interval part of hiit! ppl usually throw small breaks between the high intensity and then get back on it

I wasnt going to describe the whole thing but intervals are just part of it. There are 3 metabolic pathways and ideally you want to hit all 3. With that in mind I would do some 8-10 minute blasts with no rest, other days where say I am stringing power cleans and burpees together I would probably do work "on the minute" for 8-10 minutes. In other words say 5 power cleans then 5 burpess every minute on the minute. The first round may take you 25 seconds leaving you 35 seconds rest. Top of the next minute do it again, may take ya 27 seconds leaving you 33 seconds rest, rinse and repeat.

Other days I may just set a timer for 10 minutes and do 5 pull ups, 10 pushups and 15 bodyweight squats, rinse and repeat as many times as I can in 10 minutes.
