Bioidentical hormones?

I thought it meant that the test his doctor practice wants to sell you for a rediculous amount of money, plus a monthly fee, is bioidentically the same as the test thats naturally produced in your body, hence bioidentical HRT.. Go with homebrew, the only way to fly!

He did mention a 2,600.00 fee for the initial full day testing procedures plus a 1,600.00 fee every six months for all hormones, tests, etc.

Another aspect of Bioidentical HRT is the tests try to determine your current hormonal balance through measurements (instead of using gross statistics), and prescribe supplements that are more targeted to what you need.

I'm wondering if this doctor is a legit MD or one of those doctors from the rejuvination / life-extension clinics that make tons of money off of HRT regimens.

If HRT is deemed a medical necessity for someone by either a general practitioner, urologist, endocrinologist, etc., AND if you have insurance, then HRT shouldn't be expensive at all... at very least, your office visits should be covered, and alot of major insurance plans these days cover at least Test for HRT
