Army Vet's LOG: MGF for treatment of torn/strained vastus medialis

needtogetarmy

CEO of Project Mayhem
I am in week 5 of a 400mg test / 200mg deca cycle

I was doing squats today and tore my vastus medialis in my left leg. It hurts like a bitch.

I have read threads where BBers have used IGF-1 following tendon surgery and it was a great success.

I know with this injury, if I do not let it rest, it will take a long time to heal. I didn't give my bicep time to heal when I injured the muscle back in 2006 and the pain lasted close to 6 months.

I have been using MGF (and IGF-1) during this cycle so I am see how this helps torn muscles.

The injury occurred today. I didn't want to inject today because I wanted to read up on it. I have found nothing. I did ice for 20 mins 5 times today.

Tomorrow I am going to inject 200mcg of MGF near (not on) the site ED (one day above the injury, the next day below, the next day to the left side, the next day right side) and see how it goes.

Also, rather than inject the LR3 IGF SQ I am going to inject it near the injured site.

We'll see how fast this heals! Wish me luck.

Well good luck to u then :)

In theory MGF should be the right thing for this kind of thing but we'll all be very interested to hear if practice follows theory on this.

I hope u recover faster than ever. Both for ur own sake and because the technique will be of great value to us all if it works.

Day 1 post-injury: I was sore this morning. Today was trap and shoulder day. I hit the bike for 20 mins after the workout at a slow speed and low level to get blood flowing to the area.

Injected 200mcg of MGF below the injury and my daily dose of 25mcg of LR3 IGF above the injured area. Slow massage and stretching afterwards. I'll hit cold packs for 20 mins at least three times today and do some cross sectional massage on the site later this evening.

Pain level was lower today: 2/10 but I didn't put much force on it and I have been taking it easy.

I'll update tomorrow.

Day 2 post-injury:

Today was my core stability day in the gym. I usually do M: chest tris; T: back bs; W: legs Th: shoulders traps.

Since I have cut my cals down to 2400 I decided to add some exercises to my core stability days. Normally I do abs, lower back (also rotator cuff) exercises on F (or W and I move the other workouts up one day). Lately I have added a circuit of lifts where I do 50 reps and repeat 4 times. Deadlifts, squats, dips etc. Today I skilled the deadlifts and movements that would hit my leg injury.

Pain level 1/10 normal, 3/10 when stretched: At the end of my workout my leg felt very good though. I did stretch for 15 mins before and the pain has gone down quite a bit. I also flexed my left vastus med and no pain whatsoever. Stretching it did increase the pain level. Also doing negatives increased the pain level.

Anyway, at the end of my workout (before I hit the bike for 20 mins) I went to the leg press machine, stuck 30 pounds on it, and did 100+ reps. Full range of motion. Very slow reps, to get blood to the area. Very little pain after the set and almost no pain during the set! Amazing.

I know heavy weights will hurt it so I will refrain from that. Sat is rest day and Sun might be back day due to a trip I need to take next week.

I injected MGF 200mcg below the injury today and 25mcg of LR3 IGF next to it.

Great log bro. It will be interested if this helps you recover fast from this injury...i'm sure the deca will help as well.

Do you think MGF would be good to help heal bulging discs or do you think something else would be better? I am using HGH but it's not helping that area in my back...

I doubt MGF will help with a disc. The effects are localized. I would NOT recommend injecting anywhere near the vertebrae in the back. A girl I went to high school with got an infection with her epidural she got during pregnancy. She is now paralyzed.

I have read a few studies on MGF and it assists in growing muscle and soft tissue. I have not read anything regarding discs or tendons. I have seen numerous posts of people using IGF-1 post-surgery for tendons and it does wonders. I would try that.

Believe this or not but I also know guys injecting IGF-1 and MGF into their corpus cavernosum (their penis chambers) and doing stretching and claming exercises and it has increased the size of their penis over a 6-12 month period. That tells me one of the two has localized effects on soft tissue. There are plenty of IGF-1 receptors in the penis so that does make sense. I only give this as an example because you would need to either inject it directly into the site for localized growth (for MGF anyway) or you would need receptor to attach to the IGF-1, which are located in the intestines and penis. For example, taking too much IGF-1 will increase the size of your intestines. I also know people who have run HGH and have noticed girth gains in their penis. Whether a disc in your back has receptors is subject to debate.

I am not an expert on these substances so someone else could chime in.

Also, I fractured my ankle in 2002. I have had problem with it since. For example, I can no longer run long distances without it flaring up and sitting calf raises bother it. Not anymore. I have been on 1.5 to 2ius of HGH for about 4 months and that didn't do a thing. I am currently using deca and within three weeks it got 100% better. I can do sitting calf-raises with absolutely no pain.

Also, I have had lower back pain for a while and deca did the trick there too. I haven't been doing heavy deadlifts since my hernia in 2006 and I am now doing them again with no pain whatsoever. Deca is a wonder drug. I am only running 200mg too.

My recommendation is to use 25mcg of LR3 IGF-1 EOD or ED for 30-60 days and see how it goes. I am currently doing to EOD. if reconstituted properly, small doses re really effective. I have seen some people use 100-120mcg but IMO that is not necessary unless you are 250lbs+, very lean, and a pro.

i have some deca here waiting to be used but was waiting for my back to start feeling better, which it has not, so I can start lifting hard again. Maybe I should run a light cycle anyway with a small amount of deca <200mg/wk and see if that helps me b/c you are not the first one that said deca helped in this particular area.

I'll get some IGF as well and run that with my HGH. I've heard of some guys injecting the IGF into their spinal erector muscles for a more localized injection. I'm up to 4iu ED on wk 5 and haven't noticed anything from the HGH so maybe I need to add IGF to get that synergy.

lol yeah injecting into the corpus cav would be fun! Maybe some jelqing and stretching to cause some of the tissue damage and then build it back up with the IGF/MGF.... It's not the kind of thing you would want to do and then a year later realize it's not doing anything lmao! ALL THOSE PENIS INJECTIONS down the drain!! Prob wouldn't hurt like one would think either, that fucker is pretty resilient. :D

HGH takes a long time to kick in, like 4-5 months. I am on Omnitrope (from my HRT clinic) and it is expensive at 2ius a day. I am going to switch to IP yellow tops here shortly and bump it up to 5ius and see how that goes.

I would try deca @200mg and see how that goes for the back. I would never recommend deca all by itself so get some dostinex. I got some from rxhealthdrugs (the sponsor here). My HRT clinic does not carry dostinex. It was $100 for 20 1mg tabs. It took 30 days to get in but it is 100% pharm grade. I am taking .5mg every Monday and I have had no deca dick. 400mg of test helps too.

I read there is a doc up in Canada who was mixing caverject (erection injections) and IGF-1 for his patients who wanted to increase their penis size and one of his clients was 6 x 5 and in 18 months he went to 9 x 7! Jelqing and doing things like clamping is a must. IMO IGF-1 by itself will not work. Caverjext gives you a 4 hour mega hard-on so I can see the added benefit of using that.

Be careful injecting IGF-1 near the spinal erector muscles. IMO I would inject a good 3-4 inches away from the disc and if it looks even remotely infected head to a doc ASAP. My friend had an infection on her spine from the epidural and she waited too long because she didn't really see what was going on, it was just red and then got worse.

I'm taking Hygetropin right now and have considered GHRP-6 for it's healing properties as well but don't now enough about it so may just get some IGF like you mentioned. Any opinion on GHRP for your injury? I know Radar recommends it..

Yes, I have the dostnx on hand also! ;) I had a bad run with Deca last time i ran it about 8 months ago...it left me with low sex drive and low testosterone for quite some time. I was running 400mg and week, prob too much looking hind sight. I will never run that much again and will def be hitting HCG while on it. I haven't fully recovered but getting there. Hopefully within a month I will check my bloods again and everything will be clear for another cycle.

I have not used GHRP-6 because I am using HGH. IMO it would be counterproductive. HGH suppresses natty HGH, GHRP-6 (based on my understanding of it) increases natural HGH. Using both would either cause too much HGH to be in the system (I do not want HGH gut) or cause other issues. IMO little is know about the interaction so I will not use both at the same time.

IMO when I am done with HGH I will use GHRP-6 as a PCT to kick start my natty GH.

I do need to read up more on GHRP-6 so take this discussion above with a grain of salt.
