Fitness in the gym but what about fitness on the streets?

work is 35.7 miles away for me so no. But, for those that live closer to work, i'd say it's better than nothing.

I don't work out by travelling on the street, but I do show off my results by riding motorcycles with no shirt ;) . The Harley guys with beer guts hate me on my rice rocket, and getting all the chicks to look my Irish steel abs and not their American steel Harley...

how's life been going good bro

Life has been good to me lately, hectic, but good. There is one guy at work who sporaticaly rides his bike in. I think he has a 20 mile trip one way. But he's a long distance rider and only rides to work when doesn't have the spare time to do so

Healother!!!!!!!!!!!111

Hey Cindy! How are you?

I have to live walking distance from civilization. I walk a lot. To work, to the grocery store, to visit grandma, to the mall, to the corner store.
I grew up close to downtown though, so I am pretty used to walking everywhere.
I think it helps to keep people having a minimum level of fitness.
We are lucky here though, we have lots of walking and cycling paths, and the people use them a lot.
The Rideau Canal here in Ottawa is the perfect place to walk, blade, or cycle. No cars, 7.8 K long, and it's gorgeous. In the winter you can skate it too.
Also Gatineau Park is really close, and is great for hiking and biking.

That's exactly what I'm getting at. Using your legs as transportation forces you to do exercise. Some people are strong enough to be body builders every day but others are not. That trail sounds really nice, I love river trails. If more cities were designed with things in close proximity I think it would do America a lot of good.

I walked a ton when I was living beside the subway with no car. I moved and have a car cause frankly I had to get a car for my job and living downtown with a car in Toronto at building with no parking is the suck cause street parking sucks ass in this city.

It seems that jobs are the reason that people own cars a lot of the time. Is it because your job is far away or because you use your car at your job? When employers make their employees do the latter I think it's sad and the employee should provide the vehicle. :/

Not too bad. Life has become a lot more stable after working for a few years and I'm enjoying meeting new people regularly. I've learned that many of the things I've chased after before really weren't the be all of everything. My worldview has been turned upside down and it's been the coolest thing ever. I have a lot that I need to work on, but God accepts me as I am, even with all my faults.

How are things going with you?

Also, nobody walks in LA.

(or only nobodies walk in LA)

I don't understand this. LA has the best weather of any city in the country. If only it were designed to be more walkable/bikeable. More importantly, if only it were more culturally acceptable to get around in that city by other ways than driving.

I applaud the riding motorcycle part. It helps get you somewhat more in tune with your environment and it's a lot greener and more space efficient than driving a car by yourself. It's also a good way to tell your employer that they can't abuse you by making you and your vehicle their equipment hauler.

I've forgotten the shirt sometimes too in the past while riding, not for showing off but sometimes I just wanted a more even tan or it was just hot out.

I'm in my mid twenties now. Surprisingly, I've found a lot of females who are younger to be nicer if you just find them at the right place.

There are a lot of friendly and cool females on EF. I realize I didn't always rub shoulders with them very well at times in the past ;)
