A 52" would look really nice on my wall.

Where's a good place to get cheap ass flat screens these days? I don't need expensive top of the line shit. Just a nice flat TV on my wall. Sharp AQUOS? LG? Educate me!!!1

I see these 52" LG's on ebay for like 800 bucks. Can I get those in stores somewhere? Best Buy? Bernies? Halp!
 
I would stay away fromt he Sharps one of my friends bought one and it died 2 weeks later, they sent a new one, it only took 4 weeks to arrive and 3 weeks later it died, this third one has been going for 3 months now but that is the shits!
 
I know Best Buy will price match any competitor's offer. Maybe go to Costco or Walmart and compare a few and go to Best Buy to get the best info on them.
 
I bought myself a nice 47 Aquos 1080 and a free blueray w/hdmi cords for under a G during xmas @ hhgregg, I love it and it runs real smooth/clear with fast action sports. My buddy spent 2.5G on his 52" that's suped up for clarity, I can't tell the diff, maybe if you put them side to side

I bought a Samsung from newegg.com and that bitch died literally within 5 minutes of turning it on. It was a known power supply problem. They sent a goon out 2 days later and fixed it on the spot. They did NOT want to deal with me if dude hadn't been able to fix it. 8 months later it's been fine ever since.

why?

can i really tell the difference between a $800 and $1500 TV once it's on my wall? i doubt it maing

that's $700 i can spend on a TV for another room

Between those two figures? Absolutely. $800 gets you a Vizio with a contrast ratio of about 1,000:1. $1,500 will get you 5,000:1. (non-dynamic numbers). LCD's can't really display true black so contrast means a lot.

look at that. the black pixel gets shafted even on TV sets.
 
I bought a non LCD 36" (NON wide screen) Sony 5 years ago... I paid $1000 for it now I just hate to get rid of it because I will just go blow $3500 between the tv, console and bose system and I won't get a dime for the one I bought. So I made a deal with myself... get the kids out of daycare, buy a new house and get the system for that house. But if you're shopping.... go big, don't skimp.

exactly, just buy a home theatre to go with if you're going to drop a worthless $800 on something the average person can't tell

imo you can barely tell the difference in Blue Ray and DVD unless they're side to side, call me cheap but lol @ getting $5 Blueray rental over a $2 dvd for bare noticable resolution. LOL @ blueray's being $25 a pop in general
 
Panasonic VIERA plasmas are amazing. At 52 inches though you'll pay more than you want.

I'm waiting for my 52" Mitsubishi to die so I can get one.
 
I bought my Sony 60" Wega XBR-2 ($3k) tv on Ebay for $45
0 plus I had to pick it 200 miles away. The said it had color issues! I took it home and after 2 hours of playing with the color I had no problems! Some kid must have gotten ahold of the remote because the took out all the yellow and green! LOL
