Who's got Windows 7 RC?

I just reinstalled 2005 windows xp media center on my lappy so I am good

My old desktop running 2 gigs might be a candidate

Are you downloading it?

I keep hearing good comments on it, maybe put it in on one machine, i just don't got the time right now incase it requires more hand-holding.

However I may be doing it this week if I have the free time. I need a new zip drive also. Can't wipe my XP home machine of 7 yrs without backing up :rolleyes:

MS has a cycle of screwing up every other o/s. lol. Usually they screw one up, figure out how much it sucks, then fix and release the real one. windows me, xp, vista, 7, etc.

I've got it on an old lappy from 2005 and it runs faster than XP tablet edition did. I lost my tablet pen so I dunno how the tablet features work yet. it's a pretty badass OS, still havent figured out bluetooth yet but apparently MS is leaving that up to the folks who fuck with bluetooth hardware.
 
I'm eager to try Windows 7 but I shall stand in a corner staring at others and see how it works first.... once the guys at work validate it I might try it....

I think they're goign to treatd carefully on this one. If they fuckup again and create Vista #2 -- the chances of Mac or some other new competitor to take over the business and global market is a seriuos possibility.

I just downloaded it and burned the .iso image to a DVD... Using the DVD installed it to a spare laptop with a fresh hard drive I had laying around. It is rocking right now and I'm blazing through the forums on Google Chrome... So far so good. I'll use it for light work over a few weeks and report back to ya.

did u have to reinstall all your apps, drivers, and find many programs stop working? I have a LOT of apps, usb shit and utilites I can't afford to stop working. Also inability to go back to vista in case I don't like it.

I may burn it on a machine I use as a tester.

I'm really impressed with the interface and how smooth it is, I dont even use a lot of the Aero features much, but using the bar at the bottom and the previews of each open program is really convenient. I downloaded that technical preview of Office 2010, and while not seamless (yet) it's leaps and bounds more integrated than office was with XP or Vistaaaaaaaaaaa.

What's really sick is the cooked ROM I have for windows mobile 6.5, it's actually fairly functional on a Touch Pro + Sprint.

It was supposed to be released in June... but maybe they'll hold of until they further test, all PC manuf already have it so we can start makig OEM drivers

I haven't installed anything on it. I have to wait and see what my apps do once they are in there. I installed the 64-bit version of Windows 7 to a spare laptop that I only use for long-term travel.
 
Old news, already have visual studio 2010 beta 1 ....

I could just say I have a msdn account and get everything before the public ...

Windows 7 is wonderful, but then I never had a problem with Vista, so all is good, back to using Fedora .....

Any word on whether the 64 bit version works with Adobe CS4 Master Suite? I haven't looked into this at all as I don't have the time.

I may go buy another computer to try it out....it's a tax deduction anyway.
 
 
Was gonna try and dual boot off my HP Pavilion dv6000
XP and W7

Until I did some interesting research and found there is a glitch in the video cards with these lappys (nvdia :mad:)

had to set up a Third party iso disc for seperate partitions(vista has that built in)
I find this warning and am not going near W7 dual boot on this baby

SO I'm off to order a dvd driver for my old 04 xp homeslice custom desktop and install it on that.

the rc is good till june 2010
the release date hasn't been released yet, but it should be early 2010

I'm gonna dual boot with my xp media center
need to set up a seperate partition using 3rd party software
