Perhaps athletes know what they were doing where they are gorging bananas in breaks of sport, where the sugars are a 1/2 1/2 mix of glucose/fructose, similar to honey
 
Hmm.. So what if I throw some honey in my water bottle and drink that during my workout? Would that work good?
Then when I get back home I can get my Protein & BCAAs in..

Your protein bars (due to the Honey in them) would make a nice pre workout meal because of the sustained blood sugar.
