Bones Hurt

When I try to go heavy on ez-curls, it feels like my forearms want to snap in half. I can do my goal of 8 reps per set, but after a while my bones start to hurt. This happens with other exercises too. I wish I could say I am so strong that I've reached my physical limit, but no. Suggestions?

Sounds like you need to improve forearm and grip strength.

Bodybuilders do stuff like x-curls behind the back or with arms prone on the bench. I think you'll have better luck doing grip training. Pinch plates should do the trick:

You can also do curls this way- pinch the plates and curl up as you normally would. This should allow the lower half of your arm to catch up to the upper half

Curious as to your age. I am 47 and suffer joint and bone pain. It has restricted the amount I can lift. I know more weight COULD be obtained, but my body says no. So far, two solid weeks of Creatine and mega-doses of Glucosamine has helped greatly ...especially when it comes to curls and on the outer sides of the elbow/forearm areas.

I have never experienced bone pain in the gym....joint pain yes, but never bone pain. Hopefully you're just confusing the two.

I would go and check with your doctor if the pain is in the bone. You may have some bone weakness caused by calcium deficiency which has made your bones weak and brittle. I'd hate to see you breaking bones in the gym, but older people with osteoporosis can easily snap bones.

Thanks for the help. I don't think it's joint pain, since I feel it half way down my arm. FYI i'm 29. If I have osteoperosis I'm going to be pissed.

Sounds like tendonitis. Happens a lot with curls.

Wrist wraps? Elbow Sleeves? Icy Hot? Stretching? Forearm extensors and flexors exercises?????
