Extreme Lower Back Pain When Doing HIIT

I just did HIIT for the first time (running) and by around the 12 minute mark, my lower back was just in agony. It felt as if I'd done 10 sets of 20 rep Deadlifts or Hyperextensions. Walking home was just ridiculous, it was extremely uncomfortable.

I was just wondering WHY you think this is and whether it will get better in time? Could it be something to do with my weight?

FYI, I'm 250lbs (18% bodyfat).

Thanks.

i reckon its just lower back pumps and nothing to worry about.
are you on gear at the moment? i cant run for more than 5 mins if im on dbol. even test on its own causes back pumps after 10 mins however the more times i do it the easier it gets. the bad news is if posted this question on several forums and never had anyone come up with a fix!

this happened to me once.

the cure-take time an stretch out before any type of cardio, but i wonder if you were holding you breath. you will cramp among loads of other things if you don't provide oxygen readily to your body during intense training.

It could be your weight, but you'll proably get stronger. It's never good to eveluate a program after only a couple of times. It takes a couple of weeks to determine if something is worth while or not. Obviuosly, if the pain is such that you cannot continue, that's one thing. It doesn't sound like that is the case.
