People always hear about how weird Utah is because like 'shoot the shit' and talk about things they have no idea about. Once they come here, they realize it is really no different than anywhere else. Big city, and small towns alike.

Some mormon guys did a documentary where they traveled around the country and asked people on the streets in cities like new york and DC and asked people what they knew about Utah and mormons. They said the most ridiculous shit and they were very sure what they "knew" was indeed factual. It's pathetic. And the level of pure bullcrap and ignorance this country displays towards Utah is off the charts.

Honestly dude, when you get down to it, Utah can be frustrating to someone not familiar with it. It's very clearly run with a ton of influence from the church, which doesn't really go along with the whole "separation of church and state" thing our country has going.

And I'm sure the filmmakers you talked about showed every interview they did. They didn't just show the stupid shit people said just to laugh at them. Like the do on the Late Show or whatever.

I'll just say anyone that believs in organized religion needs some meds.

Utah itself is a great place, and the only time any of the religious or political stuff gets to people is when they let it. More things stay open here on Sundays than when I go home to PA to visit.
