We'll be lucky if we can get some more information on the Higgs boson. Will it be as easy as the W and Z bosons proposed by QED and discovered experimentally a decade or two later?
I still think the standard model has a lot of holes. Finding t
he Higgs boson would be an instant Nobel prize and a huge thing, but it would also create just as many questions as experimental verification would answer. It would definitely put us back on the right track for finding a quantum theory of gravity, though.
