I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwin' punches around
And preachin' from my chair

"I used to check my reflection / Jumping with my cheap guitar / I must have lost my direction, cause I ended up a superstar/ One night I was in the boardroom/ Affected by the human race/ You can learn from my mistakes, but you're posing in the glass again".

I'm the guy in the sky
Flying high Flashing eyes
No surprise I told lies
I'm the punk in the gutter
I'm the new president
But I grew and I bent
Don't you know? don't it show?
I'm the punk with the stutter.
My my my my my mmmm my my my.

We tried to speak between lines of oration
You could only repeat what we told you.
Your axe belongs to a dying nation,
They don't know that we own you.
You're watching movies trying to find the feelers,
You only see what we show you.
We're the slaves of the phony leaders
Breathe the air we have blown you.

I have to be careful not to preach
I can't pretend that I can teach,
And yet I've lived your future out
By pounding stages like a clown.

Is it me, for a moment...
Bell boy...
Love, reign o'er me...
Can you see the real me, can you, can you?

There are men high up there fishing,
Haven't seen quite enough of the world,
I ain't seen a sign of my heroes,
And I'm still diving down for pearls.
Let me flow into the ocean,
Let me get back to the sea.
Let me be stormy and let me be calm,
Let the tide in, and set me free.

I'm flowing under bridges,
Then flying through the sky,
I'm travelling down cold metal
Just a tear in baby's eye.

Those blue blue jeans?
Faded patched secret so tight.
Where do you get
That walk oh so lean?
Your shoes and your shirts
All just right.
But I'm one etc.
I got a Gibson
Without a case
But I can't get that even tanned look on my face.
Ill fitting clothes
I blend in the crowd,
Fingers so clumsy
Voice too loud.
But I'm one.

The cracks between the paving stones
Look like rivers of flowing veins.
Strange people who know me
Peeping from behind every window pane.
The girl I used to love
Lives in this yellow house.
Yesterday she passed me by,
She doesn't want to know me now.

Can you see the real me, can you?

Who Are You
(long album version)

(Who are you, who who, who who)
(Who are you, who who, who who)
(Who are you, who who, who who)
(Who are you, who who, who who)

I woke up in a Soho doorway, a policeman knew my name
He said, you can go sleep at home tonight if you can get up and walk away
I staggered back to the underground and the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwin' punches around and preachin' from my chair

Well, who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
I really want to know
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Tell me who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
'Cause I really wanna know
(Who are you, who who, who who)

I took the tube back out of town, back to the rollin' pin
I felt a little like a dying clown with a streak of rin tin tin
I stretched back and I hiccupped and looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the tin pan, god, there's got to be another way

Well, who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Oh, who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Come on, tell me who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Oh, who the fuck are you [english lyric version]
Oh, who the hell are you [USA lyric version]
(Who are you, who who, who who)

Whoooooooooo are you
Who wa-ooh wa-ooh wa-ooh ...

(Who are you, who who, who who)
(Who are you, who who, who who)
(Who are you, who who, who who)
(Who are you, who who, who who)
I really wanna know
(Who are you, who who, who who)
I really wanna know
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Come on, tell me who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
'Cause I really wanna know
(Who are you, who who, who who)

I know there's a place you walked where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup, I only feel right on my knees
I spit out like a sewer hole yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now after such a love as this

Well, who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Come on, tell me who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Oh, I really wanna know
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Tell me, tell me who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Come on, come come, who
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Oh, who the fuck are you [english lyric version]
Oh, who the hell are you [USA lyric version]
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Who are you
(Who are you, who who, who who)
Oh, tell me who are you
(Who are you)

I really wanna know
(Whoooooooooo)
Oh, I really wanna know
(Whoooooooooo)
C'mon tell me who are you you you, who are you
(Whoooooooooo ahhhhhhhhhh hey)

Did you have fun in Dallas, Spart?
most definitely
BM and grump were excellent hosts
I absolutely adored needto and angel's children

grump's a cool guy and BM was actually on the quiet side

It was a good trip for me because I've been an ass at times online
and I wanted to meet in person so they know me
and realize much of my online persona is an act

I went to the New Jersey school of bartending

you want a fuckin' drink?

I like how someone stuck a can of soda or something under one of the tyres on the Tundra :D

Was a can of coors........ An imported beer, Shiner is the only beer not imported.

Spart is a cool dude needto & his family were awesome. DID I win the bet.

We will do this again, next time I am renting a floor of a hotel so we can just come and go as we please.

Spart was a funny guy... lol not at all what we expected.

Angel and needto loved bustin my chops about how I "dress like Mary Poppins." hehehehee

And as Spart said, I am not nearly the way that so many have painted me to be. I AM nutz... true, but a very SAFE *dont worry about sharps and hefty bags* nutz. :lmao:

Needto/Angel kids were funny... wholelotta energy in that bunch, took me a coupla minutes to adjust to the nestfull of chirping babies LOL but I suppose it's like a bicycle, once you learn, you never forget.

Needto and Angel were a hoot n'a half!

I must admit, their little girl REALLY climbed into my affections. The boys were great too, but that little girl... she reminded me so much of my own when they were her age.

Spart was cool to talk with. We chilled in the hot tub(no homo) and talked it up a lot. Smart guy with a lot to say. First night meeting spart was rough just getting used to him when he is drunk. Once he is drunk he is pretty vocal and hard to communicate with. He gets real load and can't hear well ether. Every one has to remind him to keep it down. All in all he is a great guy to chill with. Loves kids and they take to him well to. Mother fucker will sleep all day if my kids did not wake him up.

Grump was also a fun guy to hang out with. We had a lot of good laughs. we would get going about something and thats it. We would laugh for hours beating it to death.
He has a lot of stories that I found interesting to hear as I am into that kind of stuff. He is a grump for real though. I could tell at times he wanted to be grumpy but did his best not to.

He would give the shirt of his back to some one in need and has that helping spirit. I like that in a person.

Bm was great with my kids they were so sad to leave her. They are already asking when they are going to get to see her and the old grump again. My kids will get along with any one but only ask about the people they love the most (yes they asked about spart to)

Bm has some get up and go. She kicked my ass in the gym with her high rep work out shit ( I tend to go heavy and low with sets) She was almost always up and going before the rest of us. She even cooked me breakfast once ( Swore I would not tell but I had to lol). She is funny light hearted and caring.

I could have stayed at there house for months and been happy as a pig in shit but I have my work and life I had to get back to. If not for that I would have stayed a lot longer. The whole experence was great. I am glad we had the chance to meet such wonderful people and make bonding friendships with them. Its not often you get to make friends with good people like bm,spart, and grump.

We will deff plan to come down again next year. If they will have us.

Welcome anytime!

when I flew out I noticed there's a new stadium under construction
the other day I learned the high school football team in my town will play the first game in that stadium
obviously against a TX school
my town is a top 10 national powerhouse
winning I think the past 2 state championships, including a major stomping over MTV's Hoover (in birmingham)
about 3 years ago we lost to Hoover in the state championship
that team was quarterbacked by Stephen Bicknell
who died as an 82nd airborne trooper in Iraq october 2006

I had a thread about Stephen

today we're having a funeral for a popular (especially with the teens) police officer in town who has died of renal cancer
4 year struggle
he doesn't look the same

so we have a big deal today

August 18, 1978, the "Who Are You" LP was released. It would be the last recording released by the original lineup of The Who before Keith Moon died.

You're alone above the street somewhere
Wondering how you'll ever count out there

You can walk, you can talk, you can fight
But inside you've got something to write
In your hand you hold your only friend
Never spend your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen

When you take up a pencil and sharpen it up
When you're kicking the fence and still nothing will budge
When the words are immobile until you sit down
Never feel they're worth keeping, they're not easily found
Then you know in some strange, unexplainable way
You must really have something
Jumping, thumping, fighting, hiding away
Important to say

When you sing through the verse and you end in a scream
And you swear and you curse 'cause the rhyming ain't clean
But it suddenly comes after years of delay
You pick up your guitar, you can suddenly play
When your fingers are bleeding and the knuckles are white
Then you can be sure, you can open the door
Get off of the floor tonight
You have something to write

When you want to complain, there's no one can stop you
But when your music proclaims, there's no one can top you
You are wearing you heart on your jumping feet
You've got a head start away from the street

But is that what you want, to be rich and be gone?
Could be there's just one thing left in the end
Your guitar and your pen

When you sing to your mum, and you hum and you croon
And she says that she'd like it "with more of a tune"
And you smash your guitar at the end of the bed
Then you stick it together and start writing again
And you know that it won't be too long 'til your back
To bring her some money, she's calling you "honey"
Stashed in a bloody great sack
In your Cadillac

You're alone
You're alone

You're alone above the street somewhere
Wondering how you'll ever count out there

You can walk, you can talk, you can fight
But inside you've got something to write
In your hand you hold your only friend
Never spend your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen
Your guitar or your pen

Never spend your guitar or your pen

Actually the Who Identified with "the Mods" according to Daltrey. The bikers also attended Who shows but were very aggressive and violent towards the other fans.

The members of The Who didn't really participate in the movement known as The Mods, they were just sort of adopted by Mods because they played the right kind of music at the time, and were pushed by their management to adopt that identity as a marketing tool.
