Consider each at the height of their dominance and also this is a good read before answering.

I remember a certain internal lingo Microsoft used to have for their competition: "Embrace, extend, extinguish".

Seems like a bit of pot calling kettle going on here.

who cares, microsoft has always sucked.

google is pissing me off lately too. Fuck your +1's and your circles

A third party needs to spring-up that will address privacy -- that's where both companies blew it.

I can deal with a few product problems, because they'll improve over time. I'm dating myself, but I remember the first version of Windows and it was God-aweful. Windows 3.0 was the first real version of Windows and that sucked horribly.

Our government had a wonderful tool for stopping crime -- the Internet and ISPs in particular. But instead of using this new tool in a constitutional way, they decided to confiscate everyone's records and let God sort it out. So now, we'll need capitalism to save us. I use a VPN now for my Internet (this post should show as originating from somewhere else). Ultimately I'd like to find a technology that would change my IP on every single Internet access.

So my vote? Potato.

They have that technology and i've used it on some alters...LOL!

Really? PureVPN lets me change my IP at will, but it won't automatically rotate it for me. I also use TOR on some other computers in the house, but it's slow.

Which ones will automatically change it?

yeah, I forget which software it is...I think i still have it installed on my iMac. I never use that computer anymore.

I'll see if I can dig it up..

It would be much appreciated. I can disconnect from my current VPN and pick another world location, but I'd rather it just do it for me every minute or so.

I'm one of those mean-spirited conservative law-and-order types, but when the government over-reaches its bounds I'm all for the private sector responding appropriately. I wish a few million law-abiding people all over the world would randomly send emails with words like "bomb", "drugs", "infiltrate", "explosion", etc. etc. a few hundred time per day -- then we'll let the NSA sort all that shit out.
