Hollywood Exempt from Strict New Yor Gun Control Law

I continue to find it hilarious that the Cuck still doesn't get it.

blanks are not real ammunition. Does that need further explanation? The law in question allows hollywood actors to run around with real guns but "obviously" not real ammunition. Plunkey didn't did put those two together. Nobody would have a problem with a gun that's firing blanks Nevin, c'mon that was never part of his argument nor the article's. So stop.

"Owning a gun = a bad thing.
Hollywood brandishing real guns with real ammo through the streets of New York making movies that glorify violence and gun use = a good thing."

his words^^^^

Blanks could technically be seen as real ammo. Wasn't there a stunt man that died a while ago when he fired a gun loaded with blanks at his temple? Darwin award, yes, but that seems real enough to me.

Blank (cartridge) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Safety

The appearance of a blank cartridge can give a false sense of safety. Although blank cartridges do not contain a bullet, precautions are still required because fatalities and severe injuries have resulted on occasions when blank cartridges have been fired at very close ranges.

Blank cartridges frequently contain a paper, wood or plastic plug called a wad which seals the powder in the case. This wad can cause severe penetrating wounds at close range and bruising at medium ranges. There is also "muzzle blast" - a cloud of hot, expanding gas expelled at extremely high velocity from the muzzle of the firearm. This high velocity gas can inflict severe injury (see powerhead for an example) at close ranges. Additionally, if there is any small debris lodged inside the barrel it will be expelled at a velocity similar to that of a bullet, with the ability to inflict a severe or lethal wound. Additionally, the extremely loud noise of blanks being fired can damage the hearing of people in the immediate area.

Note that cartridges loaded with wadcutter target bullets and cartridges for the Nagant revolver can be mistaken for blanks because the bullet does not protrude past the mouth of the cartridge casing. Shotshell cartridges known as "snake shot" or "rat-shot" used in rifles or handguns for pest control often have the shot charge sealed with cardboard or plastic wads or the ends may be crimped or folded in a manner similar to that of blank cartridges.
Fatal accidents

In general, deaths or injuries from blanks occur when blanks are fired by people who are unaware of their destructive capabilities.[citation needed] Actors in particular are at serious risk of injury from blank cartridges used on movie sets. Several famous actors have been killed in such mishaps:

Brandon Lee was killed, while filming a scene, when a gun containing a squib load (a bullet accidentally stuck in the barrel) was fired with a blank cartridge, which propelled the lodged bullet down the barrel. As reported in the investigation and court records, the blanks were loaded into the gun by someone other than the firearms expert, and the bullet left in the barrel by the squib shot was propelled out of the barrel on the first shot.[4]
Jon-Erik Hexum was killed when he placed a blank-loaded .44 Magnum revolver to his head and pulled the trigger—the powerful shock-wave from the blank cartridge penetrated his skull, sending bone fragments deep into his brain. He died a few days after the accident.[5]

Hollywood is getting preferential treatment in this case. The law is the law, unless youre in hollywood or your name is David Gregory

Ok so no more movies with guns. I could care less, I find the obsession with firearms and more specifically military style firearms, in this culture rather infantile. I'm just in this thread to point out that hollywood actors are firing live rounds at each other, something I "assumed" even a monkey intrinsically knew. But as to your point they get preferential treatment I don't see it. If we as a society tell hollywood we don't want to see people on screen running around with large machine guns, the kind we can't own ourselves, hey I got no problem with that whatsoever. But to make the claim that they are "techically" breaking laws with their shoots is a "vast" stretch. These shoots are highly regulated highly controlled environments. "Especially" where there's shooting involved and sometimes some explosions going off.

I frankly don't understand why they need to run around with "real" guns anyway. Look at the machine guns from aliens, they weren't real in actuality but you could fool anyone that watched the finish product. So if they can make futuristic or alien weaponry come off as real when they're just plastic molds...what's the issue in the first place?

idiomatic expression often voiced in the application of RedScam the EF Cuckold(TM) logic, otherwise nonsensical

You realize that someday we're going to discover he's a fairly normal guy trying to act like a complete-and-total retard on the Interwebs, don't you?

The joke will be on us.

It's how he takes it so seriously that sells the retardation. It's a Kaufman-esque ability.

... and if he's not joking with us, somebody needs to pick that dumb, crazy motherfucker up quickly. I'm against big brother government, but good government would make sure he never procreates or hurts someone through his ignorance.

u still haven't addressed the fact u thought hollywood used real ammunition.

Is that gonna happen or are you just going to quib away in deflection?

Day three of the cluelessness run. Let's see how long it goes.

Frequent bumps so we don't get behind on the count.
