I started dieting in September of last year at a weight of 491 lbs.
In that 7months, I have dropped down to 360lbs (last Friday weigh-in).
I hired contest prep coach, Jason "Scooby" Theobald for the entire year (and I plan to keep him on next year) and he handles my entire diet and cardio components.
I handle my own weight training portion and train similar to a Jay Cutler/Phil Heath style (i.e. lots of volume, NOT going to failure on most sets). I feel that all my years of heavy powerlifting built a strong, muscular base and now I just need to refine it. But probably the biggest difference in my current training style is that I take NO MORE than 60 second rests in between sets, even on squats and deadlifts (which I typically always perform last when I do them).
