ortiz went there recently i think. Just make sure you don't take shady cabs (have the restaurants or hotels or whatever call), don't be flashy or wear a lot of jewelry.

you'll have a good time. it's winter though, not sure what the weather is like. in my ex's city it always rained in the winter

It's on my list of places to actually visit on vacation. At the final stages of planning a trip to Europe right now...S America was next on the agenda. Rio and Buenos Aires.

I had looked into going last year but changed my mind after reading about a lot of peoples bad experiences there with crime and theft. I would definitely look into it further; I remember there being quite a bit of places locals advised tourists not to go. Watch the movie Rio to get pumped up, lol. it's nowhere as bad as it used to be.

Back when i went, my family actually had hired dudes with machineguns escort us around and shit. no bullshit


if you're a stupid tourist and don't know how to act in a foreign country (especially a third world one), then yeah, crime and theft will be a problem. but if you're smart and don't get so shitfaced you can't tell what's what, then you'll be fine
