Great post, loved seeing the pictures, my grandpa fought in worldwar II and seeing the reality of those pictures really puts things into perspective for me. A lot of young, good men and women lost their lives, my respect is given to everyone who died fighting for our freedom, which, we now have today. And what really shocks me is how such a little country like germany got so powerful, to where the rest of the world had to step in and struggled to defeat them.

Germany fought for the freedom too... the Treaty of Versailles was a huge mistake.

PS: of course, Hitler lost the reason when started the Holocaust and the invasion of Poland and Austria (the begining of the IIIrd Reich), but, sometimes we said (me too): "The allies were the good, and the axis were the bad", and IMHO isn't so easy.

Really do you think on WWII USA did a "fair play" war? Or in WWI?

Hiroshima, Nagasaky... why the States waste USD 500.000 milions per year in the National Defense? To build schools in Iraq?
