Reminds me of Washington, DC. A few years back, the police were enforcing a NO LEFT TURN intersection marked so by only a small sign in a forest of other signs (westbound NY Ave NW at MASS ave & 7th st NW). They were stopping and ticketing every non-black driver, while letting the black drivers go their way.
Same goes for jaywalking downtown DC. I saw two cop cars come to a screeching halt with jump out squads to nab a group of 7 or 8 teenage white girls who started to cross a green light 12th St at F street NW only a couple seconds after the light changed to DONT WALK (would have had plenty of time to cross safely), not bothering to ticket blacks who were jaywalking across F Street against a RED LIGHT and impeding traffic!!! I suspect that if they saw a black man commiting armed robbery and a white man jaywalking -- you can guess who would be in trouble: The jaywalker.
Racism of any color is ugly! Prior to 1970 or so, the type of racist things described above would have been white against black.
