ZMA Question!!!

Well I have a question regarding ZMA HP. I just started taking it a few days ago. The directions suggest to take ZMA before your workout and a half hour before bed. The problem I've been running into is when I take it pre workout I am dead tired(sleepy tired) when I get home from working out. Should I just take this before bed and skip the pre workout dose? I just don't want this to be taking away from my workout rather than aiding it. Any help is appreciated!

That's bizarre. ZMA is intended to be taken right before bedtime to assist you in relxing and getting better sleep. I see no reason at all to take it before lifting.

Take it before going to bed. On an empty stomch.
 
Well it's EAS ZMA HP. It suggests to take half hour before Workout and a half hour before going to bed. All I know is when I was finished working out at about 6PM I felt like it was 3AM in the morning and couldn't stay awake. It really kicked my butt.:D
 
After I read this board and the fact that everyone sleeps better with ZMA, I've decided to try it. Unfortunetly, I didn't notice any difference, so it realy wonders me how the combination of these two minerals can make some people very sleepy after they take it. :)

I tooked with my pre-bed meal(cottage cheese), I didn't thought I will realy matter. I'll try it 30minutes before I go to bed, on an empty stomach and see what happens.

Eating with cottage cheese is exactly what you should not do with ZMA.

The Zinc gets binded up and rendered ineffective by the Calcium in cottage cheese. Wait a good 1 1/2 - 2 hours after eating before taking ZMA.
 
Taking it before bed on an empty stomach is the time to take it. Also, many labels say to take 30 mg daily. I find it more effective to take 60 mg a day. Just my .02
 
I just tried ZMA for the first time last night. I really didn't think it would do a thing for me (I'm used to stuff like Xanax and Ambiem to knock me out). But... I slept like a BABY last night. Great sleep and I don't feel drugged out at all this morning. Dang!
 
I don't find that it makes me sleepy or anything like that. I just feel as though I get a more restful sleep. I usually wake up a lot during the night and I find that when I take the ZMA on a regular basis, I do sleep right through the night.
I certainly don't understand why they would suggest taking it pre-workout. That just doesn't make any sense.
