Ok not sure what is going on with me but I am getting Zits I have been on OrthTriCyclyn for a while rarely if ever get zits. But over the past months I have had 3. I am not taking any form of streoids. Any ideas what it could be from?

3?? LOL. look, im 33 and i get them all the time. I am also not on any AS. I also drink tons of water and dont eat greay foods or drink pop. I attribute it to all the sweating i do in the gym. Im buying every product made by Neutrogena inan attempt to fix this. Im too damn old for zits!

I've had zits all of my life & I'm older than Smurfy. I eat extremely clean, but I've always got a zit or two floating around. I always get a couple of those annoying deep ones the week before "that time of the month" and I always seem to get them on the outsides of my eyes - like where I hold my sunglasses when I take them off / put them on, and also when I sweat (e.g. along the straps of my sport tops).

I've had the best luck taking Pantothenic Acid (Vit B-5) when I get bigger breakouts.

Ah, well, nice to know I'm not the only member of the wrinkles AND zits club! I'm 31, I get them around my chin and central forehead. I have no clue what they're from, because whether I eat clean or not it makes no difference. They just get worse around my period. I thought they were from the extra stress I've had this year, but now I'm on holiday and they haven't gone away. My doc said all the oral treatments available were anti-androgens, and the last thing I need is even less test floating around than what I naturally produce, so ...... sigh.

I tried large doses of B5 too - nothing. Nothing nothing nothing, so now I just wash my face twice a day and try to keep my hands away from my face.

I actually started taking 2 grams of B5/day (1 gram in the am, 1 gram in the pm) for its anti-inflammatory properties, but it's helped with the monthly breakouts too. I only tend to break out around my period, but with the B5 I haven't even had to deal with that.

me too, same time.

i'll have to try taking B-5. thanks for the advice!

When I started taking Chemo, I got crazy bumps/zits on my face from all the toxic shit that was coming out of my pores. I started using tea tree oil and applying it with a q-tip directly to the area needed. I got mine from The Body Shop, and it saved my skin. Just be careful because it will dry up your skin so only put it on the actual "zit." Here is the direct link: Tea Tree Oil

Good Luck!

A friend of mine told me she had great results with that stuff proxxxx?? they sell on the infomercial [sorry, I am having a brain cramp]. However, I saw her the other day and did not think her skin looked much better.

Best stuff on the earth: SEA SALT!

If you have a local health food store they can hook you up with sea salt. It's wonderful for a facial scrub twice a week. It also has natural extracts(seaweed) in it which helps close those large pores us ladies can be prone too! It'll keep your skin nice and tight and smoooooth!

Your daily water intake is also VERY key to clear skin!

I drink at least 3 liters of water a day. Yeah I have some tea tree oil products from the body shop don't think they help that much!

I'm 37 and I had clear skin until I was in my mid 30's, then all of a sudden I started breaking out occasionally. Then it turned into real adult acne along my jawline and on my chin. I tried every OTC product with no avail. Then the doc prescribed antibiotics (took them for a month and it helped a lot) and Retin-A. I used the Retin-A for about 2 years and it also helped but it never completely cleared up. Then this year I did a couple of cycles of prop. and the acne slowed down dramatically with each cycle (that goes against the norm, I know). I've been off for a couple of months and my skin is clear almost all of the time now. I didn't even get a monthly pimple this month!

I don't know why it started and why it stopped...I'm just thrilled it's gone and hope it stays this way. :D I wash with Carress soap and use Oil of Olay moisturizer twice a day.

Vix...thanks for the sea salt idea for large pores. I'm gonna try that to see if it works because where I had acne my pores are bigger. Grrrrrr...dontcha love magnifying mirrors?

Here's some good info. on acne:

Mrs. P..You are VERY welcome.

They can keep all their fancy schmancy department store stuff- This woman will take natural botanicals anyday of the week!

Hon, make sure you also rinse with VERY cold water every chance you get! I'm talking ICE COLD! Soooo cold you think your face will freeze- lol

Mirrors can be a bitch! Hey, I like my laugh lines though. They're better than frown lines, right?

Miss chatting with you!
