Hey Animal, Long time no speak! Just got my computer back up after a major crash. I asked this quest a few weeks ago and someone replied with a link to the article about zeranol being uneffective for humans because we lack the gastric system to absorb it. check the archives.....later

Zeranol is an anabolic estrogen, as the earlier poster stated. It IS anabolic in humans (disregard the stupid idea that somehow a ruminant's digestive tract is required for this chemical), through its effects on GH and IGF levels. Unfortunately it is estrogenic, but studies have shown it to be something like 1/1000 as active as estradiol.
