Youtube vids that don't suck

youtube is full of craptastic vids of 16 year olds bouncing the bar off their chests but there are some awesome feats of strength on there by regular guys.. this one caught my attention

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kolyIrjyrEM&NR

405 for 12, damn.. now I feel like a little fluffy kitten :(

even more impressive that he isn't using a PL style bench. No arch, and it appears as if there is no leg drive in his bench.

those little oriental guys lifting those huge weights seemed a little off to me... as if they were those plastic training plates that look like 45lbs but are really like 5-10 max.

Wow bro. That is the most impressive thing that I have ever seen. Do you hold a world record?

No bro there's been a misunderstanding. That's my personal HERO, not my personal VIDEO :D. That was the world record in C&J in 62 kg class until his retirement. The current record is less than 8kg than his. 182 kg by LE Maosheng.

oh. It was late when I read your post, must have been a little tired, and mis read that. Still, that is sick

Scotsman... that's fucking awesome!

Tom Platz repping with Big Kazmister in the backround is my fav. part on that one.

How much does someone need to deadlift to manhandle a 500lb stone like that?

the squat vid's sweet... is that net guru pavel showing off his kettlebell built physique at the start?

marunde's 20 with 405 actually got some flack online :o

Travis deadlifts close to 800. There's not a lot of carry over from deads to stones though the starting positions are too different. Although deads do build up the core strength needed for stones.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Here is my personal hero, Naim Suleymanoglu, clean & jerking 418lbs at a bodyweight of 132lbs.
damn, merecere, you beat me to it. that's one of my favorite vids, i've posted it in some other thread. naim is just awesome - one of the greatest oly lifters. BTW, on a side note, current great, hossein razazadeh is originally turkish, but as everyone knows, represents the country of his birth, iran. turkey tried to convince him to represent his country of origin - suleimanoglu personally invited him.

I knew that he was invited to compete for Turkey but had no idea he was of Turkish origin. Very possible though since he was born near Azerbaijan.

He changed his name too. It used to be Shalamanov when he competed in Bulgaria. He is Turkish, just born in Bulgaria and then had the opportunity to move. I hear he was pretty well compensated to do so. Australia also picked up some lifting talent around the same time. Of course the US had Antonio Krastev move here, he offers to lift for us and what - he worked as a bouncer in NY. They never had him on the team and to my knowledge never had him as a trainer. WTF, I'm not one to usually critisize but from what I have seen (and heard time and time again from those involved) there is a lot of bullshit politics in USAW - as if they don't have enough problems.

I was talking about Reza Zadeh. There is a jinx of miscommunication in this thread. :)

Love this video, Olympic squatting like buttah.

Explosive GM's at the end... with what? 300lbs or so?

That's been one of my favorite videos since the first time I saw it. At first I thought "he's going all the way down but it's not much below parallel". Then, I looked again and saw how far forward his knees came. I think he could front squat almost like that.

I've wondered since I first saw it who the dude is, though. One of the comments says hes a 3 time Olympic medalist.

Sarge or anyone else, do you know who that is?
