I try to imagine what some of you sound like, and would love to actually hear alot of you guys talk in convo some day... I hate phone convo... I dunno... I've only lit up as of late due to new sparked interest, but for the most part is seems rehearsed and flat and I hate that...

Anyway I just finished an article review voice tonality and patients suing doctors, apparently mal practice suits just do not happen when the patient like the doctor, it appears to happen basically when the patient feels or gets the impression that the doctor could care less about them as person.

The studies revealed common sense things like amount of time, questions asked, and appropriate facial expressions determined whether or not doctor got sued. However, another study revealed that it was the Voice Quality that predicted whether Dr. got sued as well. The research filtered the voices so that only intonation, pitch, and rhythm were heard... you could not understand the words or content. The ten second clips were evaluated for warmth, hostility, dominance, and anxiousness.. and she found that by using only those rating, she could predict who would be sued and who wouldn't.

Point is quality of voice determines so much as attraction, persuasion, empathy, and being able to pacify others...

Can you describe your voice, does it win others over, are you a fast talker, loud talker, soft talker... what do you sound like?

Does your voice really reveal your emotions? Are you more stoic?

Not at all, I'm just sayin, you sound so sure of yourself, and so commanding...
It weird cause the voice fits what you do IRL, it sounds like you get shit done, its an awesome voice... but it sounds more like Dr. Zhivago, and less like Smurfy... I dig the voice, and I can see how you can persuade alot of people to do certain things...
No nothing like any relative I have, lol.
Plus the voice has presence, it just sounds like you know exactly what the fuck you are talking about...
My voice is not bad, but I don't have that certainty that you possess.

I mean does it match your 6 3 255 frame, I dunno, since we both grew up in midwest, I can relate to your voice, moreover since you grew up in the midwest I just imagine that you verbally tell yourself sometimes what you are supposed to do for the day... or tell others around you.. I dunno I still do this.
I don't think you are a loud talker though.. dunno why.

weird thing is, i may sound like i know wtf im talking about, but half the time im totally clueless
 
I've been told I sound like that guy in the Christmas movie . . . what's it called . . . "It's a Wonderful Life" . . . the main character. I think his name was Jimmy something or other. I've heard my voice on tape, I think it sounds like I have a cawk in my mouth or something. Oh, and I have a very slight southern accent.

Okay this is the thing I imagine about your voice, and so no pressure here...
You have a great voice, alot deeper than mine but not like barry white deep, but anyway I think its kinda a resonant quality in that when you speak, people really are drawn in, not invading... but stimulating... anyway I think one of your strongest qualities is your voice, I think every emotion you feel you transmit through your voice, its one of your little tricks or qualiteis you have developed in closing.... I think its got an inviting quality to it... I just think that speech is one of your strongest qualities... and you know this.

For some reason I can see you as a fast talker, and while you are audible, you are more closer to a soft talker than loud...
Not as deep as say Sigourney Weaver, or Fiona Apple, lighter pitched,
but I just think that you conceal your emotions, and you gotta more stoic thing going on...
I would like to hear you laugh though.. I dunno why, but I bet its just quirky...

i think you might be surprised to hear Chris' voice. He's not nearly as innocent as he sounds heheheh :evil:
 
Mine does not project well. It sounds gruff and very deep.
I have the socal thing going on too. Sophisticated, gruff, somewhat quiet, deep voice.
 
I have a very mild southern accent that only comes out when I get heated about soemthing, am talking about "home" (NC) or have had a few drinks. Medium pitch - not high, not throaty. it probably projects a little TOO well at times - blame my theater background and my hearing disability.

Still if you sound like him then you must sound optimistic when you say things, which wins people over...
Southern accent with a matro perosnality, weird... hard to classify, but so are U.

However, you really think about what you say, before you say it, unlike me... which I just throw whatever comet so mind and then sometimes while the ideas is so enticing, however when it comet to me transmitting it I realize it makes no sense... yeah... no surprise here huh?
 
Ask Smurfy, Stilleto, or QT. The first two have heard my voice on the phone and qt has hung out with me before.

I always think my voice is kind of nasally.

Funniest thing I was at an art show/opening the other night. My bro and I were checking out one of the paintings in a narrow hallway and apparently my voice hit the natural resonance of the space because it felt like my head was being crushed every time I said anything. It was really cool but also really annoying.

I know you articulate your points well, very well, however, and don't digress that much, however, Yeah the pitch and tone are what I was curious about...
Also I would think or assume the rhythm is pretty direct, yet I think you gotta lyrical thing going on...
Again a juxtapostion of assertive tempo with a rhapsodic southern twinge...
Damn that description sounds like something I wanna listen too... lol

Wow, that does sound annoying... My head would be swiss chees before I even got within a zipcode of my point, with all the digressions that I make..

I'd say that fully half of what comes out of my mouth is a joke (I like to clown around). So, what you hear is either an Ann Coulter - esque sarcasm, or me chattering away while laughing. It gets weird when people who don't know me don't realize when I'm joking (most of the time) and when I'm not. If I'm not smiling when I say something, it's a dead give away that I'm being dead fucking serious. I think I'm pretty easy to read, but some have disagreed. Oh well. ;) And, hey, ain't no way I could have escaped 22 years of living in the deep South without a hint of an accent. :)

But I just don't think U would have a deeper... voice, but kinda stoic too...
The voice wouldn't be so indiciative of what mood you were in.
 
In my head I sound like a combination of Keauna Reeves and Bryan Gumbel or if they had a kid, I think IRL However, I digress like a mofo, and have a higher pitched, but not nasally voice...
Can't quite nail down a celebrty...
The game I would like to have played is to have everyone read the line from Usual Suspects, 'Give me the keys Cocksucer' and then we all have to guess whose voice it is from a list...
That would've been so much fun, oh well just around the corner I guess.

Not too sure how wise I am as I tend to get myself into some really strange predicaments.

My voice is in the baritone/bass range. Most people don't know what mood I'm in unless I'm angry that comes across really loud and clear.

Ah the voice. Well, I am really really shy. So my voice is quiet, until i rage about something, then this angry side just comes from nowhere and the voice is uh.... I dunno, like a deep loud I mean it kinda shit. But that's a side I try and avoid. Nah, man I am like so shy that I joined a 24/7 workout place to avoid people. I have issues I guess.

Hey you guys don't use that against me, I mean it dammit!

My shit has too much staccato and too much tenor and not enough baritone, but I get by...
after reading articles on persuasion and emotional transference, yeah I wish I had more of an innate persuasive ability that some peeps seem to be born with.
 
2 hours until work and I wanna distract myself, I got some digits and voice action that blew my mind, I wanna hear more voices and see if they match up...

My voice is too soft to be an attorney and I have a soft, lilting southern accent. I wish it were more authoratative.

but I would have chosen Holly Hunter, younger version, of anyway to play you in a movie...

I just think you would have a beautful voice to match your style...
I also imagine that you would have a twinge of feistyness in your voice...
Either way I just think your voice has an inviting, kinda playful quality when you are not stressed with trash talking drama feeding secretaries or inefficient grandma pretenders...
