Your results for 5X5?

Really worked well on all the compound lifts-BW went up about 20lbs. Strength increase was huge. INcline bench up 60-70lbs, military up 50lbs, squat up 80lbs deadlift up almost 200lbs

Yeah, deadlifts seem to have gotten the biggest kick in the ass from 5x5. Strength all around tho, definitely goes up.

was training your only variable for this?

Suston, while on 5x5 by any chance did you incorporate any type of explosive training? I was thinking of doing a 5x5 some time in the future again, but to break through bench press sticking points doing a 8x3 speed bench (30 second rests) at the end of my workout to work on explosiveness. Would this be a good idea?

D3Track-Diet, Form were the other variables. I really worked on form only progress with weights when I earened the right to.

Tom-To be honest I did not add speed bench untill lately but I did use chains on CG press and flat bench, Incline was my 5x5 compound excercises while flat was 2x8 and cg was 5x5 on tri and shoulder day

I think diet was about 60% training the other 40%. I just made a real commitment to lift with perfect fomr and be humble and honest with what weight to use. Also I was eating every 2-3 hours and sleeping 8-10hours a day

Great gains suston! Ive been doing the 5X5 too but with extra volume, since 5X5 by itself wouldnt even budge one of my muscle fibers. Im all about getting as sore as possible for the coming days. Going to the point of complete exhaustion for the most part. I like the progression of the routine alot however. Ive been using it for my flat benching, to get back from this injury. Its nice to be able to progress 5lbs a week instead of using the same weights each week and failing with the reps. I started at 250 for 5X5 to get back on flat bench. Did a very easy 275 last week and I figure by the time I hit 315 for 5X5 Ill be back to my previous strength level. Since I was only getting 315 for 7 reps and 275 for 15 before the injury. Id like to see how long I can keep the increases coming.

5x5 is an excellent program if your a teen like me. I have seen much improvement in both strength and size
Deadlift 154lbs gain
Bench 88lbs gain
Squat 88lbs gain

Hopefully before my 18th B-Day I can hit 350 on deadlift, 250 on bench and 225 on squat.
