I don't see anything wrong with Roberts. He will be a lot like Rheinquist and lean towards strict interpretations of the constitution. I do see this court over turning Roe sometime next year.

Why would the Supreme Court overturn their own decisions ? It's not like Roe Vs Wade happened in a wrong context (for example decisions back in the 1800's overturned for racism....).

Why wouldn't they? They can review any case they want. If someone can prove that the commerce clause isn't applical to abortion procedures then it can be overturned.

Even if Roe v. Wade is overturned, it'll become a states rights issue. Some states will have abortion and some won't. You'll find people shopping for doctors. Not the coat hanger in back alley thing of the 50's

They have turned over or reversed decision a few cases that were similar if not very similar in the past. Even since the 80's.. So yes, the can and do..

10 commandments display got different decisions in seperate states for different reasons.

I do agree with Dudin that he may not be perfect to everyones personal social ideals, but there are worse candidates out there both on the far left and far right.

I think the 2004 uprising of the Christian right may be waining from what I have heard and may be not as powerful in 2006+ to allow the reversal of R vs W. without a revolution of sorts..

Of course they can review any case they want, but overturning your own decision is not somthing common or even acceptable for the Supreme Court. You may see that with inferior courts but unless there's a serious reason or society in general has has changed over the years then I just cant picture the SC overturning Roe vs. Wade....
