It is not a neo-con union...in the past it has been strictly democratic...republicans have been pushing for michigan voters (huge u state) and it has paid off to some degree...btw, Michigan is home to the largest carpenters u in the country(detroit local something) and they still vote dem i reckon...I belong to a smaller northern u, voting for Bush, though hardly neo-con lol

I think trade work is a different machine...you can't send construction overseas...commerical construction work is often highly skilled and has to meet rigid safety/structure/asthetic codes...so hiring cheap labor is usually out of the question...
