He was trying to make the sexy talk with his ex girlfriend and win her back but she rebuffed him. Other people at the party called him a worthless pig and... well, they dead now. Had they called him a worthless poothead, I am quite sure they would in fact, still be alive.

Why call anyone a name?
Why get involved in someone elses business?
I have seen people killed for less.
It happens every day.
People tend to forget there can be consequences to their actions. Even ones that are not justified.
If they acted like mature adults and did not throw degrading names at that guy or get involved in his business everyone would probably be alive.
