YOU TELL ME! RONIN - M5 or M3???

Hi,

sorry but the answer is neither.

It IS a e34 chassis but NOT an M5. Yes it has a badge but that means nothing.

1. In ALL M5s , there is a oil temperature gauge right under the rev meter(tach). The e34 used in the movie RONIN does not have it.Instead it has the standard e34 current gas consumption gauge under the tach.Hence not an M5

2. All of the gauge needles in e34 M5 are RED. The car in RONIN has WHITE needles, another indication it is not an M5.

Sorry Pete, have to disagree with you there. Know someone who was at the shoot of that movie. It was an M5.

He is talking about an E34 M5 and he is correct. Movie studios use multiple cars for their scenes, it is possible there was a plane E34 in some of the scenes, but there was an M5 in there, and the car is supposed to be an M5.

Sorry 'bout that . I read his comment that ALL M5's have the gauge under the tach. In the E39 it is beside it. No biggie.

Hi guys,

Michael - I should have said all e34 M5s. Sorry, my bad.And I wrote about the OIL temp gauge, not coolant. The e39 M5 has the OIL temp gauge under the tach too. The coolant temp gauge is to the right of the tach in both e34 and e39 M5s.Its all good man, I should have said it clearly.

zkm - If You say so I stand corrected, I am only stating what I saw in the movie - in the interior shot. . That is cool then. Didn` t think they would really use an M5 in the scenes..

Pete, I typed to quickly in my first response, they probably did have a plain E34 in there in some of the scenes (xoroshiy glaz)

unfortunately, i don't think that the M3 CSL is coming to north america at all save for some select few that transport it over from europe.
