You never stop learning about injections...

I have done lots of injections, and for first time I hit a vein. Let me tell you that you don´t even need to pull the plunger in order to see blood on the siringe, it comes easyly.
I´m telling this to the newbies, because I used to pull the plunger really hard in order to see a bubble...now I know it´s not necesary. A light pull is ok.

Intersting mate - I always pull really hard too until I get a bubble. Stupid question maybe but here goes - 'cos the syringe filled easily could it have been an artery? I know the blood pressure in those guys is a lot higher than in a vein. They tend to be deep whereas veins are more superficial but perhaps you could have hit one?

Well Cornelius, keep on learning

When i pulled the plunger back once, lightly, but (i really do hit a vein frequently when doing arm shots) pulled again harder and then and only then blood came in the syringe. So ALWAYS pull back on the syringe hard not light.

tdekeyser, I have done like 100 injections. This one was on my shoulder.

baldy, I understand that there are no arteryes on the shoulder...i may be wrong, but even if I´m wrong arteries BP is very high and pulsatile....this wasn´t the case.

You should be able to tell by the colour as arterial blood is bright red due to it's oxygen rich properties whereas veinal blood is dark red due to oxygen depletion!
