You love doing shrugs?

HOw often you train your traps/shoulders?

I love doing traps and looking like batman. As you can see, I have a big neck. I work it regularly. Once per week. I'm gonna get one of those neck harnesses. Been planning on it for several years now. One day I'll get around to it. LOL

you think doing them twice per week is too much?

No. Once works good for me. I sometimes shrug twice per week.

how much weight you use?

Lately I've been doing high reps, pausing at the top and doing the movement rather slowly. 80 lb dumbbells for about 25 reps.

No I don't like doing them. Takes lots of concentration to keep good form and to do uniform reps every time.

I love doing shrugs, don't do too much right now though. Start with 200 and end with 240 with a shrug bar. I'm re-writing my lifting routine for after I move, and back/shoulders is going to be my push it to the limit routines. I love shrugs, nothing better then someone looking at you then you flex your neck and it flares up.

how many reps you do?

Pending on the day, usually I top out at 20 on my best days. My worst ones, where I use my hands a lot at work my grip suffers, I can do 10. Depends all on the good ol hands.

you like deadlifts too?

Actually, I never do Dead Lifts, Squats, or work my legs. This is the reason I am creating a whole new routine. I lifted in high school, and in college and I worked everything then. I am just no getting into it very seriously, I am reading as many post as I can, researching everything I can to help build my new routine.

If you saw the one I am doing now, you'd probably kill me. It's helped me lose weight and helps me work on my form, but it is horrible. Hardly any gains anymore, just over all working the UPPER body. It is because my partner had his routine and I had to work with his. But now I have to re-do it. I hate to do it, but I need too. Maybe do chest day with one of his THREE!!!

Anywho, I'm going to put 'The Bear' in my routine once I start.

well i hope your workouts improve over time.

Yup, as do I. I'll be posting frequently on the Weight Lifting forum over the course of the next couple of weeks. I want an exact detailed routine, I'm breaking everything up into 5 days. So far, the rough pattern looks like this
Day 1 - Bi's/Tri's
Day 2 - Shoulders/Back
Day 3 - Chest
Day 4 - Legs
Day 5 -Shoulders/Back again possibly?

Also, on what day should I do dead lifts? With what body part? I probably shouldn't ask this on C&C, but hey hah.

im not a huge fan of doing traps, though mine arent terrible (they flex well). i shrug every 2 weeks, supersetting double armed dumbbell shrugs with single armed shrugs for 12 reps apiece (ie 2 arms for 12 reps, then left side for 12, then right side for 12, then alternate) for a total of 4 supersets. i start at 100lbs per hand for the warmup set, then use the 120s for the remaining 3 sets.

the rest of the time i hit traps using a slightly inclined posture when i row.

dont know how you guys use straight bars to shrug with anything above or near 200. nice way to twang an elbow imo

bro... definately come over the weight training forum... there is LOTS to be learned there... read up on the 'stickys' at the top of the page...
deadlifts generaly go with back but when you read up on the training forum, you may want to change your workout up a bit... you'll see when you read it...
imho deadlifts are an essential movement... squats too... so you definately need to get these into your routine...
