training needs to change past 30... i recall shadow and aap and a few others commenting on how less seems to do more... i am feeling MUCH better physically and mentally in the gym by changing up...

less weight, more reps, and more feel.

i'm happy with the last 2 weeks of training for the first time in well over a year.

No, they are all wrong.
People in their 70's have been able to do strength training with 80% of the maximum weight they could lift.
On biopsy, their muscles showed the same changes as happened in people in their 20's.
So the age stuff that you hear, it is all bullshit. No scientific basis.

Bullshit......show me a pler who could bench 600 and I guarantee you they cant hit 480 at 70.

We are always right :)

I have to lift my stomach to button my pants...

Seriously though, what do you want to know? ;)

I need to figure out what type of training is best for me. I've been sedentary, exercise wise for most of my adult life, not to mention abuse of alcohol and other substances, and now I'm trying to be active, lift heavy, etc..... It seems I'm finding out the hard way that I have weak tendons and joints.

Well, from firsthand experience. when you hit the point in life that test drops off significantly, for me it was around 44, two years ago, then the workouts do have to change, or you have to supplement like crazy.

I do not believe that, without juicing test, I could add any significant mass without adding significant weight, in other words lean muscle mass gains are difficult.

i'm not worried about "getting big" i had fun with that at one point (though i was never BIG, just 249 at the heaviest)...

anyway, my point was that changing my training is working for me SO FAR... which means it's true for me and not bullshit..

thats my entire point of this thread.. .changing my training seems to be working for me.

things change, but I think it is more mental than physical. priorities and such are different.
