I am seriously at the end of my rope. I am just finishing up my fifth year of college at the U of M. I will be receiving a double BA in art and English, and hope to go on to be a teacher someday. Before I go to grad school to obtain my teaching license however, I plan on doing the one thing I have always dreamed of: teach English abroad in an underdeveloped country. So I have good intentions right? The thing is that because this is my fifth year of school, federal loans etc. have not really come through for me like they have in the past. Anyway, I’ll just come out with it: I need a loan. I am coming up on being three months behind on rent (which has technically been paid for...by a very generous friend who is now out of $$$ from paying my rent) and I am about to graduate in two weeks and I’m afraid at that point I’ll no longer be eligible for private student loans. I need a co-signer to obtain the loan I am applying to (Wells Fargo Student Connection Loan) but I cannot, for the life of me, find one. Of course I have already asked all of the obvious people and so far my mom, dad, and brother have all been rejected. My extended family is just as bad off, if not worse than my immediate family when it comes to financial situations. Because I am in college, I do not really have any friends who are in the position to co-sign either. I know this is crazy, but will you, a complete stranger, trust me enough to co-sign my loan? I will tell you whatever you want to know about me (I can prove that I am very responsible and that I will have no problem paying this loan back....which, by the way, is for $8,000) and I will do whatever you want or whatever it takes to convince you that I am trustworthy. I am literally out of options. I really believe in humanity’s capability of generosity towards one another, including strangers. This is why I want to teach abroad for a year and this is why I am reaching out to you, yes you, for a favor that you could feel good about forever.
