Xbox 360 owners did the new update kill your consoles??

I've never been on-line with mine, no updates done, year and a half old and never a problem. I've never met anyone that doesn't do Xbox Live and had the RROD.

I've never used mine online and it has happened to me.....twice. I'm waiting for the fucker to get shipped back to me right now.

This is the most bullshit I've ever had to deal with for any electronic product I've purchased.

The new xbox live is the shit. Sony has no hope now and it also jacked the wii's swagger (or what lil swag it had).

Still, if I had to pick between sony and microsoft coming out of this economic crunch, I'll go with microsoft. Either one will be second to nintendo. The next nintendo machine will be so well funded it's ridiculous. I'm amazed that even the DS is beating the shit out of the 360 and especially the ps3. By the time the Ps3 becomes affordable we'll see nintendo and microsofts new machine.

Throw in all the add-ons you need for a 360 to equal a PS3 and it ends up being more expensive. Deceptive marketing.

No one I know got the ROD from the update, we are on our boxes most of the day and no problems here ...

Downloading your games to the hard drive quiets the system a lot.

my son did the update and he is on xbox live all the time and no problems yet. he did the update on his birthday nov 19th and no problem yet. i even signed up for netflix where he can watch movies instantly on is xbox and still no problems. if there isw a problem that arises trust me i will be the first person he tells and asks to fix it... lol

And it still doesn't have an HD-capacity disc medium- $$?

Right there alone the $299 60GB HDD 360 exceeds the price of an 80GB PS3 that has both of those, plus USB rechargeable controllers (no pack needed), web browser, real time global news/weather interface, free network service, swappable HDD's, and a few extra bells and whistles that aren't really needed but are there if you do. $50 a yr for XBL over the course of just four years adds on another $200.

People still say PSN is shit? Maybe when it first started, but even then they had lag free dedicated servers. It's only getting better. They just announced they already have as many users as XBL. The only thing XBL has going for it is....I dunno, more content and a better game invite setup?

I'd take quality over quantity any day though.


Oh and as far as the "console war" goes, Microsoft basically admitted they're going to lose, noticing Sony's momentum. At E3 this year they stated "First to 10 million wins it.", regarding sales in NA. Actually Microsoft, it's just getting started. PS3 is already nearing 10 million in NA and has been outselling the 360 in PAL territories for a while now.
Almost time to rush out another console and screw over your userbase again, huh Microsoft? lol.

I really think this is the final nail in the coffin for MS.... especially right before the holidays???

I know if I was looking to buy a console this Christmas for myself or my kids... I would definitely not buy an xbox 360.
