WTF to do when you're unemployed?

So I'm in between jobs right now. Have way to much time on my hands.

My days mostly consist of chatting online with girls I know, surfing elitefitness, eating right, and working hard on my cycle. (Tren/Prop)

Then there's TV, but there's so much crap on these days.

Any good movies I should rent?

What the hell else do I do? Any really good websites out there?

I am voluteering a  now. Goodnight! :)

what BB said is a good idea. a lot of people need help. unless you like being a shiftless layabout.

I could handle that for about 3 days before I got so bored I'd shoot myself. For as much as I bitch about work sometimes, I need to be busy or I'm unhappy.

Enjoy it while you can. Before you know you'll be back in the grind of having to wake up to go to work every fuggin day....whooopeee!

This is a problem that I had to deal with starting a few years ago in my work. I often have 8-10 days in between trips and work. I would get so bored that at my old job I would volunteer for assignments like working the Workforce One (unemployment office) and college job fairs.

It really depends on where you are located. Here in South Florida, I often pass my time at the beach or going to early movies. Or renting movies to view at home.

I like to train about 2-3 PM and almost always take a nap everyday too.

If I were single, I would be filling up a large majority of this free time fucking my brains out.

Depends on how long. Under 7 days, wake-up, gym, watch CNN, Golden Girls, Divorce Court, One Life to Live, Dr. Phil, nap, then either dinner at home, happy hour, dinner out . . . . repeat.

2-3 weeks, I become a tourist in my city and explore.

AAP if my work was like that id probably spend it doing home improvements. a week is llong enough for any paint/tile/concrete work

That only takes me 2 minutes to write the check. What to do the rest of the time?

Believe it or not, it often is very hard to find things to do. Nearly all my friends work the 9-5 thing. So you end up hanging out by yourself a lot.

Like today, I had to get up early. Like, 7AM to wait for a guy to come give me an estimate on the roof repairs. He still isn't here yet.
Next I am going to nap, hit the gym a bit later today about 4PM and back here to shower and have friends over who still don't have power tonight. That's it. I am basically stuck here because I have two obligations (worker showing up and gym) but the rest of the day is pretty unaccounted for.

yes but the point of doing home improvements by yourself is that you know that the job gets done right (i have a background in it anyway) and you feel more comfy in your own home

plus you can use better materials

plus having workmen in your house sucks

i know what you mean though. thats why id hate shift work. that and having puffy eyes all the time

I was laid off a year & a half ago......I've gotten a lot done around the house since then. At first I spent a lot of time just hanging around the house doing nothing.......

really? ME TOO!!! :D she was this really tall, hot blonde thing, with the nicest boobs you ever...

oh

laid off, you say :worried:

Well in honesty, last month I finished the remodeling of the master bedroom. Then next month, I am redoing the master bath.

Did and will do all this by myself. However, my main hold up right now is a custom shower head that I am having built. What started out as a simple concept has turned into something a bit more complex. I may have to find another designer. Mainly because in my mind it is still simple, I don't know why he is making a big deal about it.

a custom...shower head :worried:

i shudder to think what its going to look like ;)

if the designer is liasing with a sculptor, im going to laugh my arse off :lmao:

not a bad sort of idea. a little fancy for my taste (im into spa baths myself and regular, squeaky clean boring normal showers myself :) ) and youd have to juggle a lot of stuff around in your bathroom to make it all fit together properly (the bathroom, not the showerhead) but yah, it has potential

it must be nice having hurricanes rip your house apart all the time - you get to remodel often ;)
