WTF!!! Just recieved email from DEA

Yes, it is most definitely a scam. Does anyone remember the thread I posted a week or so ago about the unsolicited email form gearboxinc? The email address they sent it to was the same one I use for GPZ and only for GPZ. I replied to gearboxinc asking who referred me to them and they said someone must have used the "refer a friend" link on their site. Sounds like BS to me since nobody but GPZ knows that email.

Definitely some sneaky marketing going on here -too bad it scares the hell out of folks.

I don't want to start anything, but I got another strange e-mail last week from someone called "gearbox" stating emphatically that they weren't associated with Getpinz. Today I got 3 of these fake DEA e-mails. The timing is suspicious and seems like a chapter out of Guerilla Marketing of something similar.

I got the same thing and I think you're right about gearbox.

Good to hear, I got the same email today several times too. I was a bit worried until I checked the domain. Everything seems to be ok, though. No worries.

I just received an email from [email protected], actually I got about 5 of them, that read:

The Fda has logged all use of this site (getpinz.com) Your ip address and all personal information is now on file with the fda and dea. Do not visit this site again for illegal purchases or you will be investigated. Jail time and or fine may be imposed. SRT. Ricky Gonzalez.

Is this shit for real? Im guessing it is, but from a pins site?

Yea I got 3 of them, and it's dea.gov to the dumb ass hacker that figured out smtp mail is just plain text and unverified.

Don't worry about it. I've had hoax E-mails like that, too. Mine were supposedly from the FBI. They're garbage. Just delete them.
