WTF is wrong with rappers?

Fast Twitch Fiber

New member
I just read about the Lil Kim prison sentence. What amazed me was the background story. Her gang and a gang from a "rival" rap group got into a gun fight. What the hell! I thought stories about rappers killing each other was just BS talk trying to boost their image. Apparently the dumbasses really do shoot each other. What the fuck? I'm having images of Elvis and the Beatles getting into it with switchblades. Hell, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with people. Can I denounce my membership in the human species?

rappers are bad, but they aint got nothing on pitbulls...those are EVIL!!

Also if you notice...the rappers themselves (except for shyne and C Murder) dont actually do the shooting..they're homies/security does.

They're all punk, ghetto trash that infiltrate the fabric of society with violence, glorified irresponsibility and flagrant self promotion. Parents should wise up and not allow there children(under 18) listen to this garbage. I hardly think rap is music anyways. TOOL, NEIL DIAMOND, PATSY KLINE, FRANK SINATRA, BARRY WHITE=MUSIC :Chef:

The Chef has spoken!!!

what exactly did she do?

there was a shootout between her posse and another rappers posse at a radio station, she was questioned about the shootout in court awhile back and lied and said 2 of her associates werent at the scene of the crime and it was later found out they indeed were at the scene and fired the shots.

wow. I guess you only judge rap music by what you see on tv. I guess I should go judge rock based on Linkin Park and Good Charlotte.

Fuck outta here.

Dude, the Roots are cool. That's rap with music. I think it's great. Jay-Z hooked up with Linkin Park, that was cool. But would I listen to Jay-Z rap over some over produced, sampled and looped track made on a Sanyo Drum Machine...... Naw!!! :Chef:

YOUR WHITE AND from the mid-west...how can you expect to understand a music originated from poor black people from the innercity.

dude, some of the best rap is just samples.

but, I agree with you on one part of what you said....but disagree with another...the part about how it was good when jay-z worked with linkin park..yeah, pretty sure that was a disgrace to rap...just like nelly and that country singer guy.

Because I'm also a Musician and music lover. I lived in the inner city for 8 years growing up as a young child. I lived near Harlem for 3.5 years and saw the effects of rap transcend upon the community. It's polution and sets a bad example for young kids whose parents don't do enough parenting. Reggae was from the inner city and it is also Afro-Centric. It promotes peace, serenity and compasion towards one another. Rap doesn't.
Rims and Tims, bitches and switches, hoes and elbows, gats and sacs...

i dont know if i was piss poor , grew up and had to sell crack to buy a pair of sneakers...i would celebrate and be cocky as fuck in my music.

regardless i would enjoy pouring the cack to lil kimberly jones

I've been wondering how to properly spell drive-by in the plural. Is it drive bys? Is it one word or two? Is the hyphen necessary? Once I know this shit I'm going to start a gang.

It'll be the downstairs sales/admin against the upstairs sales/admin at work. Downstairs for life yo!

cut it out
terminating "racial" threads is about like trying to stomp out scattering cockroaches

some rap is alright, I think its poetry with a beat and not really music though, doesn't mean they aren't talented poets (some)

personally I hate 95% of it though, I can't stand the ganbanger culture, can't stand people who talk like they have a second grade education, and personally I feel it attaches way too many bad stereotypes to the black community that become realities witht he way it influences a lot of them which in turn sucks for all the guys that are trying to get away from that image of what the black community is about

a lot of rap (not all) promotes nothing but ignorance, and all the gang banger rappers who are killed by their lifestyle got what was comming to them and I feel no pity for em, your rich as shit yet you still remain invloved with criminals and degenerates that only drag you down with them? thats just fucking retarded

when I was "blue collar" worker back in my college days I worked in restaurants etc.
I'd listen to a dishwasher recite the lyrics to a rap song that must have been 3 minutes long
but when I questioned him what 7X7 was he couldn't answer me

Point taken....could have been a good front. Slip out the back door...take out the garbage....Know what I'm sayin'. I grew up in the restaurant biz, I think I've seen just about everything.

If my music sucked as much as rap sucks then I'd probably be killing people too.

Ok, if we are talking about mainstream rap, I totally agree...then again, I wouldnt call mainstream rap, "rap". I would classify it more as pop to be quite honest.

Go listen to nas, immortal technique, mobb deep, wu-tang, 2pac, biggie, jay-z, old school eminem, atmosphere, jedi mind tricks etc etc and then tell me what you think.

Just as people hate rap because they dont believe its music or that it promotes further degradation of the black society seems like bullshit to me. In the 'hood' rap music is theraputic for kids and teens growin up struggling, it gives them something to use to zone out and just vibe.

Personally, I cant stand metal, or rock in general. I cant see why people find any interest in it what so ever, it all sounds the same to me...then again, thats what the opposition says about rap. Hating on one genre of music is just stupid though. People like different sounds because people are stimulated differently, so while I like to hear I nice loop with a poetic flow over top, a rock listener might prefer that different combinations of a drummer or how a bassist plays his strings...its all the same in the end if you ask me. People are just stimulated differently when it comes to audio.

It's a shame though that these days inner city kids look up to these "Gangsta Rappers". These Rappers talk about hustlin'. We all now what hustlin' pertains to: Selling drugs, stealing, fencing. I know it's not their responsibility to set an example but they show no compassion to the problems that they cause. :Chef:

Why is that surprising?

These folks before they got signed...were your typical ghetto trash ... with rap sheets up the wazoo, little to no respect for human life, and little to none formal education.

Then they get 'signed' and millions are thrown at them.

You think that'll a) make them more responsible and mature or b) make them more callous, care-free, dysfunctional and spoiled

If you said B, BINGO! Money corrupts the already corrupted.

And since these people are surrounded by other money-grubbing opportunists, you can see how their lives truly get messed up.

'You can take the man out of the ghetto..but you can't take the ghetto out of the man.'

They talk about hustlin because its what some of them had to do to survive. Seriously, when you're starving, you'll probably committ a crime to eat. It isnt a rappers responsiblity to example, yes, you're right...and rap isnt the cause of their problems, so dont even say that. These people were born in the ghetto before they were listening to music, they were raised by piss poor families who already had bad ideals and little meaning to life. When these people grow older, rap gives them some fantasy in a way. They see that some of those growing up in the ghetto made it big, bypassing all the drug trading and killing...this is what they hope for. Sure, some rap promotes violence in a way, but they're arent telling people to go out and pop others so they can be like them, no, instead, they are merely describing their story...because when it all comes down to it, a rapper has to have a story in order to survive in the business. This is somewhat of a bad example but, look at eminem (ignore that he was white or wasnt a gangster), if he didnt have all that shit happen to him growing up, he wouldnt have half the people listening to him and nobody would care what he has to say. But he had a unique story to tell, and in a way, others could relate...this whole rap artist to fan relationship is what the music is all about.

if you compare the black music of the 60s & 70s etc to today you wonder where all the talent has gone

The sad thing about all this shit is that young kids and teens are emulating the lifestyle they see portrayed on rap videos. I see many young kids forgoing their education to hang out with their 'posse', sell drugs, steal cars, assualt people and steal anything they can to buy the latest clothes etc, they see their 'hero' wearing, driving, etc.

"white" death metal/doom rock glorifies suicide
which is good

Can't people realize that "gang banging" or whatever the hell it's called, is not a real lifestyle? Also, I never mentioned blacks in my original thread, however, one thing I want to know is why do black rappers perpetuate a negative stereotype of black people.

I read an interview with 50 cents or half dollar (fuck what his name is). Basically he was bragging about how he was a drug dealer and had been shot 10 times. Why the hell would you act like that is a good thing? Shouldn't your message be more like "Yo yo, I's a crack dealer and gots my ass shot 10 times. Don't be a dumbass like me" Instead, he was glamourizing it. Hell if I'll ever understand it.

Well put, guys like Haf Dolla portray a poor example to these kids in the inner-city. I think he deserves an 11th shot, the kill shot. :Chef:

Rappers are, obviously, extremely smart.
They are really exceptional people.

For some reason it's become very marketable to glorify that lifestyle....and their target market is teenagers which is a bit unsettling. To idolize violent criminal behavior is not responsible - I don't care what genre of music.
