there was this chick who came in the store to buy Xenedrine yesterday in a sleeveless, anyways she had about 50 or so cut up (knife cuts) and down her arm, and prob 20 on the other. Why people do that is beyond me. I just tried not to stare at it, Ive never seen a girl that did it up close, just on news programs and stuff

When I was in college, I worked part-time in an emergency room. There were many patients who cut themselves because they're depressed and mentally ill. They were not doing it for any sexual purpose. It was very sad because they would get sewn up, sent to a mental health facility, and come back two weeks later with more cuts.

Although for self mutilators, it may be perceived sick to some, I feel if it provides them away to deal with the pain without acting out on others, its not that bad to a certain degree. However, those who self mutilate on areas of their body that are visual to others, they are seeking attention or help.
