ground turkey?? i found a case of it underneath one of my seats, i must have forgot it on the last food drop. so i have all this ground turkey, but the shit sounds awful. just as much fat as fucking pork, if you ask me. and it's consistency is lousy, so you have to add binders.......any ideas?? dog food?

Must be some really crappy ground turkey. We buy honeysuckle white ground turkey all the time. Low fat, good stuff. Use it for chili, burgers, etc.

23grams of fat per. and it won't stick together. pretty runny.

i thought i should atleast try it, because it's part of something the government programs give out to the homeless and less fortunate. i just wanted to know if what i'm passing out every week is any good.....

use it in some hamberger helper.its the only thing that can save it.

Bro I LIVE off ground turkey day to day. Its cheap, lean, and tastes great IMO. Here is what I do with it. Toss a grip of it in a pan, cook it up. Once cooked, toss some low sodium tomato sauce on it. Next roll that shiz up in a fahita and there you have yourself a high protein turkey roll that is easy to eat and no mess. I eat these bastards all through the week. The prep time on these too is fast as turkey cooks incredibly quick.

HT... how long was this under your seat????
if its 'runny', it might be bad. I know you live in a cold climate and all, but it will still go bad. I use ground turkey a lot- mix it with tomato sauce and you have a meat sauce for pasta. its cheap, filling, and high in protein.

it was only in my car for half a day. got shoved under a seat while they were loading it. i took some out of the freezer last night, i'll try and whip something up with it later. 10-Q for the replies.

I'd just cook it in a pan with salt, pepper, and some olive oil until it's all brown and crumbly...then i would drain it, wash it, dry it, season it, and throw it on a bed of some spinach leaves or something. That'll get rid of most of the fat.

That's the only thing I can think of to get all that fat out. I had to see any meat go to waste, though....seeing I have the average daily diet of a panther.

Yeah I dont like throwing away any food lol,I would try to put it in a pan and drain all the fat out, maybe even wash it out and then put it into a sauce.
