Wow XP is way better than 98.

I heard people talk about how good XP is but I am really shocked. There is a night and day difference from XP and the 98 I was using. I have a 4 year old 500mhz PC but if feel like I got a brand new one the way it's moving now.

so far i have been dissapointed with its stability as compared to win2000

but, keep in mind i am running sql server and multiple instances of visual studio 7 in debug mode so i probably am straining the os far more than normal...

I love the way the pc boots up so fast. The new look took some getting used to but it's real sharp, IMO. Some of the things are a bit overly easy though...like how it's designed for complete and total retards.

I wiped my HD clean when I installed it but I backed everything up which was for the best anyway I guess and you're right 68GT350. The look does take some getting used to but it is nice.

And when you do a clean install, you don't have to install a single driver. It even installed my nic which never happened with 98, ME, win2k pro, server or adv server. I'm pleased with it

wait till you start wanting to play some games and god forbid you right click on an image and select properties while the images are in thumbnail mode. Good chance of just resetting your comp.

Seriously tho' if you visit the xp help forums around the net, there's a lot more hassle with xp than 98se.

Well I did have to install my DSL modem driver but that's ok. I didn't have to install any other drivers which is a very good thing. I am very busy during the week lately so I won't get a chance to really check things out until the weekend but I am liking what I see so far. Either Windows XP is that good or 98 was that bad. It's probably a little of both.
