Would you rather suffer in righteousness or prosper in evil?

i think it is a fallacy to believe that those are the only two choices.

For instance if you choose to be involved in the drug trade, you are contributing to the ruined lives of many people and sometimes death. Some will say, I don't make them buy the drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc) I just profit from their sale. Lousy excuse. Many other innocent people suffer as a result so you can have those expensive clothes, car, etc....

Well, I have never chosen to make a quick buck by doing anything shady, nor would I ever, even if that meant I had to live very simply.

No, sometimes you can prosper in righteousness and suffer in evil. I'm just asking what people would do if they had to choose between the 2.

I work in retail and in the banking industry. That qualifies me to work in evil as I do profit off selling stuff that people don't need or giving loans to people that can't afford them.

I have made my choice.

You exude righteousness. You also exude vindictiveness, as well as I do.

Does it bother you sometimes?

you do not have to suffer to be righteous

I think it went right over your head and hit the wall.

I believes in the laws of Karmic retribution, which means that if you profit by the suffering of others, you're gonna get it, if not in this life, the next. I'm not doing anything to harm another that would cause me profit.

Kudos to you. I believe the same.

I'm probably gonna pay for taking a crap in that guy's potted plant.

biteme a part of being righteous means you don't give a shit if you suffer in this life or not
'even though you don't have to"...so this hole thread went over your head. :)

Well this is the problem between economic systems such as Socialism/Communism vs. Capitalism.
Capitalism proves that a far better quality of life and ability to achieve material wealth than does a Socialistic or Communist model. Although the degree of "Caveat Emptor" is higher and people are suckers day in and day out paying for stuff they dont need. Lack of motivation of sellers and innovation in socialist models has numerous examples. Like Russia and China (whom steals US innovation rather than invents it) and most notably in North Korea (best seen in the satellite view of the Inchon Peninsula at night, NK= No lights)
But, at the same time, their are dirty jobs to keep the system working and there a lot of them that are fairly lucrative.
They all do serve a purpose in the system, as does the legal consequences if those dirty jobbers get caught. They pay for attorneys, who hire paralegals, who drink lattes from people who decided not to go to school and be better, they pay fines which go into the state's coffers. I mean it all works out that people can get what they want, those who are flagrant get busted.
And those in charge of it all make several nickels.
I am sure there is some book on all of this that explains. If not, then let me know and I'll write one.

hi bb how you doing bro..

Depends on what it was. If I am to take that question literally then I would say prosper because I don't give a fuck about the next life if it exists nor do I think hell actually exists because I believe people create their own hells in real life. I would try to be the nicest bad guy though, hehe.

I just learned something about myself with that statement.

Thanks.

Eh, some neighbor's dog is gonna shit in your flowerbeds in a future life

Frankly, I think you deserve credit for ingenuity.

But I gotta ask ... did you actually SQUAT over the thing? I mean ... the images that concept created when you first confessed it, Bite ... very, strange to say the least :worried:

"Hell exists" ~the current pope

No need to wonder any longer, the emissary has spoken. It's not so much Dante's inferno or similar popular culture dogmas. But an eternal existance devoid of God; like being locked forvever in a small room with two other people. (pray to God they aren't Christians)
your choice always; to believe or not to believe in me

prosper in evil, based on elimination theory

i cannot believe that despite my efforts, that id still suffer

i know what youre getting at, but these questions are almost meaningless without a few shades of grey. everything that everyone does contributes to something happening to someone else, good and bad, and hence, the inescapable overlap and butterly effect that we are ALL subject to aka "the human condition" makes your question...crap
