many great people are. . .while there's definitely many successful coaching styles, and you don't have to be crazy to be effective, but i've always respected/admired the uncompromising, unapologetic ass-beater ala woody hayes. . .

There is a big difference between child abuse and discipline.

Almost 100% of Bobby Knights kids get a college degree. He has NEVER been on any sort of NCAA probabation for rules violation and he has won a championship 4 times.

If there was a few more Bobby Knights around, the NBA would not be full of as many thugs nor would it being taken over by the foreign players.

I think that people should learn to respect their Coaches and stop being little crybaby bitches who blow things out of proportion.

And I think coaches need to stop being power trippers and grow the f*** up. Yell your head off if you want, and yes kids are too soft these days, but there is not one single reason to slap or choke a kid. it's an f'ing basketball GAME. He should be fired and then shot. He is a disgrace to coaching.

Well there is something to be said for discipline, but there are hundreds of coaches all over the country that are winning coaches that don't go around throwing chairs and hitting students. If it was his child then spank the crap out of the kid, but this is a young man/legal adult. Hitting is childish in this situation.

And I actually find myself rooting for foreign players because they understand the basic concept of teamwork that Americans lost a long time ago. The dream team is not a team at all but a bunch of wanna be superstars with egos as overinflated as their salaries.

The NBA and sports in general is mostly a joke now a days but the NBA is the worst. College balls is so much better.
