And, HIV drugs do not cause AIDS. AIDS is a syndrome of the deterioration of the immune system caused by the HIV virus. I would be curious to see the "science" you quote that is stating that these drugs cause AIDS.

There has been research that some HIV medicines supress the immune system further. Since these medicines are only surpressing the HIV and not curing it, when the virus adapts the immune system can't contend with it. Here's an article http://www.tpan.com/publications/positively_aware/july_aug_00/AIDSDissidentsJA00PA.html

I always wear condoms with new ppl.

& I if it becomes serious, I ask her to go with me to get an STD/HIV test so we both know that we are free & clear.

I don't always do oral sex with someone new at first.

Maver, did you read this article? I receive TPAN every month and very familair with their writers. This article talks about some of the myths and miconceptions surrounding AIDS and debunks these myths with quality scientific data.

HIV is immunosurpressive through its ability to attack and deplete the body's T-lymphocytes. These cells play a critical role in our immune response to ANY antigen (bacterial, viral or fungal). Anti-retrovirals interrupt the the HIV virus life cycle in one of 3-4 different ways depending on the agent. This reduces viral load (the amount of virus in your body). As viral replication decreases, the body can reconstitute its immune system and replenish T-lymphocytes (also referred to as CD4 cells). Also, as viral replication falls due to the reduced viral load, mutation is less likely to occur. These are all things that imprive the immune system.

It is myths like this that keep people from taking the drugs they need to save their lives. If you don't belieive me, correlate HIV morbitity/mortality with the development of antiretrovirals and you will see a clear relationship.
