would this work for me

why don't you try it and tell us :)

Honestly, if you're not lifting and progressing with reps or weight you're just spinning your proverbial tires.

Why not give it a try instead of asking questions and see how it works.

welli dont wanna waste time i have been lifting with minimal results for 6 months and need something that is gonna show gains....will this produce gains or will cardio cancel out lifting as ive heard

Cardio burns calories. You need calories to grow muscle. So, yes, cardio "cancels" 'em out TO THE EXTENT that cardio puts you in a calorie deficit (e.g., losing weight). IF you eat enough calories, you can build muscle while maintaining your aerobic fitness.

here's the good news: aerobic fitness is easy to lose but easy to regain. so even if you lose some of your aerobic capacity, you can get it back pretty quickly. On the contrary, it's difficult to build muscle.

When having 2 goals... usually none are reached. Decide on a difinitive goal and then if you also come out a little short on the other goal, so be it.

But you need to make a choice.

Lifting, get big... or lots of cardio.

But from the sounds of it, you'll get plenty of cardio playing on the ice, practice, ect... no?

I'd look into Mark Ripptoes 3x8 program.... or Bill Starrs Intermediate 5x5 for a great strength/mass program... but you have to eat for gains.

You can't eat like a school girl, lift and hope for the best.
