This is why there is a need to have two doctors. One is your primary care doc and you just go to him for checkups and colds and the other you go to for your AS use. This way if you need to apply for life or health ins you give the name of the first doc and when they do an attending physician statement there is nothing on the AS use. Ironmaster is correct about the M.I.B (medical information bureau) once something is on there it sticks with you!

Just my two cents.......it is important to tell your doctor what is going on, only before you disclose any information you may need to remind him to keep his fucking mouth shut. I went to see an orthopedic surgeon about my shoulder and he started asking me questions and I told him upfront I didn't mind disclosing any information to him provided it NEVER went in my file or left the room. He agreed and talked with me about it, and told me that they were bad and I shouldn't be using juice. Fuck him... anyway I went back two months later and while I was waiting to see the doc I grabbed my file and read the whole thing, my AS usage was never mentioned. Unfortunately this is not the case for everyone, but I do know that all physicians are legally obligated to keep their fucking traps shut, unless they are talking to another physician and the information is absolutely pertinatant to the course of treatment and the other physician is involved in your treatment. Anyway that fucking sucks, I don't think suing the doc will get you anywhere, but having your lawyer call him and "let him know" that you don't appreciate him running his mouth will scare the shit out of him, and hopefully his other patients will not have to go though the same shit you did.

Although I must say the comment about JABBING A FUCKING NEEDLE IN HIS HEAD sounded good also.

your doc has every right to discuss the matter with any doc that is or will be treating you...your doc cant discuss the matter with your mom or other family memebers or any other payient,,,secretary ect..if this happened you have a case

you obviously fucked up while taking medical law courses. iasked my docs(i've been to a few since i move alot) about the confidentiality before i tell them my a.s use. they all tell me they can NOT dicuss with any family members. we're waiting for your respong "doc".

Well sure bro, but the reality is that people sit up and take notice when an attorney is involved. It is a situation that pisses me off.

I'm an attorney myself, and it seems like when somebody is trying to screw me, and I sit down and write them a letter on my letterhead, all of a sudden I get completely different treatment.


I guess a lot of people think they can walk all over you and assume you won't do anything about it, and it often takes the threat of a lawsuit to get somebody to take notice of you.
